WN Mechanics seek mediation

I

It comes down to this, these road shows are to inform us, why they feel they can't bring this to a vote. The members will voice their opinions and the four ALRS will have to decide to listen whatever the membership wants, or will they continue on the same path of a stalemate, only time will tell. Does AMFA survive long term or not, who knows.
Again. You need to get a clue. The ALR's have in fact listened to the membership and what they want.
BTW have you been to one? If not, hold your breath, until you have. Get a clue...

You produce, that's interesting, so tell me in reality do you really think people will sit another 2 to 5 years without a raise in pay or a contract to vote on, and this union survive without a challenge in representation. Or do we get to an impass for the company final offer not accept it, and get to self help. You say you feel better, really?

Again get a clue. For Gods sake get informed. YES we will sit another 2-5 years. Scope is the biggest issue at hand. You keep threatening a challenge to the union representing us, get a clue, that won't happen as YOU indicate. Comprendae???

So basically AMFA has wasted the last 5 years. They could've had scope done, T/A because they claimed they were making progress on Update #60. Then the negotiating committee brought economics into it, and didn't finish scope. We were told Swamt when we started this , it would take three years, well we are double that no end in sight. Then we had the Airtran integration, we could've done what Alaska did, got a contract, then do the integration, we missed the boat on that one. Now the Max is here, they will need to work with that and ETOPS, well Southwest does not look to worried. The maintenance footprint has changed at this company, and we expect no changes that is not reality. So you might be able to calm the troops down with the road show for a small amount of time, but if you think they will ride this boat for another 5 years, you better get a clue.We threw Louie Keys out and the negotiating committee. We threw the Teamsters out because we didn't want to be taken care of next time. If there is still nothing to look at, we will probably get a new group of guys that can produce a deal, when elections come up.The industrial unions just love this.

swamt when do you maybe finally get a clue. You've been in a holding pattern for over 5 years now. Just circling, circling, circling. And you're not being represented by a group called AMFA, you're being represented by a Law Firm Group that whether you continue to deny or ignore it does have a shady history.

You can't just keep ignoring these articles with your fingers in your ears going blah, blah, blah like a little kid.

Wezzz you are wasting your time with guys like this, they will blindly follow what the ALR tells them, this looks like Northwest. Maybe he is on the negotiating committee, who knows.

That's the problem driver. I don't want to see another NWA type situation happen again in our industry. But guys like swamt are crazy. He doesn't mind waiting forever because he's scared. He wouldn't want to ever have a Strike vote because he knows it's really not going to be that hard to replace you all as there just aren't enough of you to worry about.

So his solution is just to continue sitting in the waiting room waiting for someone to call him in. The problem is no one has been called in and the other people around him (You for instance) are starting to get hungry and thirsty.

His response: Don't worry they'll call soon. (Over 5 years of that?????)

You're right weezz when we were Teamsters, I was always taught as a steward if everyone is moving up, you are good, if you can't get everything you want in a contract move on, and work on that next time, but we opened the box and the genie escaped. What I love is he trashed American Airlines Association, and you guys will be done, before we are. At least your guy's union has common sense. No wonder AMFA never got in American, they just have to sit back and watch us. I miss Louie Keys, he was fair and had common sense, but this group kicked him to the curb and we are paying the piper.

I keep my ear to the rail on these forums and have read so many outrageous comments I just have to dismiss them as nonsensical. I know there are things said that are meant to just get a rise and I dismiss most. There’s no reason there can’t be civil discussions about where we’ve been and where we hope to be. I do hope there will be transcripts of the road shows so all those unable to participate will be informed and I will be contacting AMFA leadership to request that happen.

No, you need the clue. The nego team are the ones in charge at the table. Legal is only there when called upon by the NC. Quit focussing on our legal team. They are nothing like the teamsters legal team, not even close.

AMFA has not wasted the last 5 years. The company did. Then on Aug 16th of 2016 they (the co.) decided to start nego. up to then they were stalling to get their 5 year pay freeze to wait for all the other airlines to catch up with us. You really need to get a hold of your ALR. I don't give 2 shite about he refuses to see you this or that. He will not ignore you I promise you that. Make an effort man, step up and go get the info. After the meetings, a bunch of members have settled down now that they got all the info. So when these RS get to your city or at least near your city make time to attend or at least get in on the internet to watch and listen.

Instead of working sooo hard to bash AMFA and praise your crooked as hell teamsters, why don't you focus that energy on getting yourself educated about what is really going on. It is obvious that you are only here (with your twin) to bash the union and try to divide.

I go to the meetings and I intend to go to the road show, ours is last. One road show is not going to keep people quiet for 5 more years, you probably gained a year at most of patience.

No you need the clue. Law firms are not designed to provide you Liberal Social Justice. They're in it for the money. And they make "suggestions" based on being able to continually make money. So you're being naive to think they're absolutely giving your (mostly uneducated) Negotiators the best advice to end this now over 5 year fiasco. (You guys are their Cash Cow)

BTW the Negotiating Team is in charge? I thought it was the Members who were supposed to ultimately be in charge?

Sounds like you have another typical industrial Union on your hands over there.

That's your opinion. Stop trying to shutdown others with other opinions, you antifa liberal snowflake!

Try to divide because people are mad, you guys divide yourselves, people want something to vote on, we will conquer ourselves, by taking forever. You don't have to circle the wagons

Birdman I really can't understand some guys logic, I understand scope language, but has anyone really analyzed the scope changes the company wants, and not just guess and do fear mongering. I can't believe if this really got to 7 years or more, that you guys have no problem with the economic loss. You know you will not get full retro pay. Especially when the company has been presenting offers regardless if you think they are fair or not. The company position will be, we offered this, it's not our fault your negotiating committee did not accept it.
