WN Mechanics seek mediation

Well, here we are at the end of the week after the Dallas RS's and it went really good. There were a lot of questions. The cmte fully answered their questions, gave their input, and the attorney also gave his opinions and suggestions as well as clarified a bunch of misinformation that was traveling around. Even some extreme heavy company supporters were satisfied with the meeting and actually turned 180 in support of the union. Thanks to all that could attend and get this very valuable information. These RS's were needed to get all the membership on the same page, and it has really settled down the members that were agitated by the cmte not bringing anything out for a vote, and they really understand why now. I would encourage everyone to make time to attend these RS's so you too can get all the info. Very informative meetings...

We will be there, and listen to their position, you have been granted, a year a peace, and then something will need to be produced.

A year without constantly criticizing and trying to undermine our union and negotiation team isn't exactly my idea of solidarity, but ill take what I can get. Welcome to the team.

I have been on the Team, you must admit, we can't be too satisfied when we have gotten rid of two ALRs, Louie Keys, replaced the negotiating team, AMFA 11, got seats on AMFA international and not much has changed. This Wn has been epic failure on both sides. I still don't like the fact we have the same law firm, if we can replace officers we can replace our law firm.

After over 5 years you're a very patient person. I'll just wait to what I hear after the road show. The big question are you going to join the pom pom club for a year?

Very harsh using words like criticizing and undermining. Simply disapproving or disappointed in the progress. Which should be understandable to most.

You mean SSM&P aka AMFA?

Nope, no pom pom for me, the year of peace quote was for the members, but I think you will get about 6 months, in reality, before people get impatient.

SWA does not outsource more than any other airline. UPS, FedEx, Alaska, JetBlue, Allegiant, Spirit, US Airways, Sun Country, and maybe even UAL sends more of their maint. outsourcing. However, with that said SWA does send out the majority of their maint to 3rd party maint than maybe the three biggies. And yes it is criminal...
Do u really believe ur own post? Reread it. SWA has the lowest number of techs. 700+ airplanes. Quit blaming the Teamsters. Have not been there in years. Where is the Amfa power??? Has nothing to do with the direction of Seham with the Federal lawsuits filed????? Get real.

If any SWA Employees would like to join in we would be proud and honored to have you join in.

Sorry I missed this driver.

2016
16.0 In house Maintenance employees per Aircraft.
The ratio of mechanics per aircraft has never been a talking point with fellow mechanics at AA or WN but I can assure you pay, benefits, and job protection is. If it’s going to be discussed it should be accurate. Indeed WN has a 3.3 ratio but without knowing how many IAM mechanics there are I cannot do the math. Fill me in:947 AA aircraft/7275 LAA mechanics/???? LUS mechanics. So far it’s 7.68 without LUS.
