Start at the main page on Alternet and keep reading. Propaganda, spin and lies.

Ok. Let me know if you ever decide to cite one.

In the meantime, I'll provide a couple of Ms. Bachmann's.

Of course, there's everyone's favorite "Death Panel" myth that she plays like a greatest hits album.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/14/health/policy/14panel.html

She claimed during the healthcare debate that the reform bill would lead to a 30% increase in gov-funded abortions (the law does not allow any funding of abortion care and even prohibits the exchanges from providing care with private premiums).

She perpetrated falsehoods about the stimulus package and the TARP bailout, and shouts down any who attempt to correct her facts.

And, perhaps most egregiously, spread a rumor that Nancy Pelosi spent over $100,000 on liquor minis on flights to her home district (Ms. Pelosi does not drink, the claim has been determined to be completely untrue).

Is that enough, or would you like more? A simple google search should suffice if you are as yet unsatiated.

Maybe you should look at what i wrote previously here and here (or not, I dont care) and try a dose of comprehension.

Um, YOU were the one trying to draw conclusions of the entire state's education system based on the problems on a single district.

Did you even read the METHODOLOGY used at the bottom of that article you linked? Did you even read it? I find it utterly ridiculous.

What does the following (bold) criteria have to do with proficiency of kids learning?

If you have a state-by-state statistical abstract that uses a methodology more to your liking, I'd be happy to read it. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not an education expert. This one makes sense to me, but if you have facts you'd like to share, please share.

If it wasn't already apparent by my user name, I'm from Kansas. I'm a proud graduate of the the University of Kansas, and MorganQuitno is a well-respected scientifically-grounded institution that I am familiar with from my days in Lawrence.

Why? Would it change your obvious overtly liberal bias? No. The facts I have already posted, you are unwilling to understand or comprehend them. I'm not going to do your thinking for you.

You really should stop while you are ahead. Your just embarrassing yourself already.

Senate GOP leaders requiring missing Dems to pick up checks in person

In their latest attempt to force Dems back to the Senate, GOP leaders have voted to require their missing counterparts to pick up their paychecks, per diems or any expense check in person on the chamber floor.

Senate Org voted by paper ballot today 3-2 along party lines to impose the requirement on any senator absent without leave for two or more days.

The ballot also suspends direct deposit for any lawmaker absent and specifies the majority leader will only provide the checks to the missing senators and only on the Senate floor during a session day.

What does the following (bold) criteria have to do with proficiency of kids learning?

Ok, are you serious? There's your problem right there. You think this is measuring the learning proficiency of kids state-by-state?

Do you really think that this study is trying to determine if kids in a state such as Wisconsin are inherently more proficient at learning than kids in any other?

The intent of the ranking is to relatively determine the proficiency of the educational resources and facilities available, not the students themselves. The sooner you comprehend that notion, the better the methodology will seem.

It appears it is YOU who has a comprehension issue.

Oh I see, your rebuttal to my article and facts was to change the subject to something all together different. And then try to spin it as something of relevance? Wow, thats some debating skills you have their!

WOW!!!
I must say that I am SICK and DISGUSTED with the liberal/conservative bull #### on this thread and this site in general.

For you ID-10T's the 'UNITED States' is a 'UNION OF STATES'.
If you want to make unions illegal, start with this one.

Making Unions illegal is abhorrent as well as unconstitutional and any of you that believe Unions are the downfall of America (while feeding the top 10%) are idiots.

How about those of who feel that unions did do a great deal in the past but have become part of the problem now?

BTW, the neat thing about this country is that people are allowed to have opinions that may differ from yours. That does not necessarily make them idiots.

Because thats a whole mess a crazy talk and out right lies going on over there on alternet. Come on Kev, you know i love you but have you sunken that low?

Still waiting for a fact I sited to be shown incorrect. Just one.

As WorldTraveler pointed out, the MPS system is an urban system with all the same issues of any urban school district. Surely you can see how disingenuous it is to draw concusions about WI public ed based solely on what you mention?

http://www.morganquitno.com/edrank.htm

MorganQuitno ranks Wisconsin #8. I'd say that's a fairly impressive standing, wouldn't you?

#2 in SAT scores is something to be proud of as well...

Disconnect:

liberals cry "democracy" while blocking precisely

what a majority of Wisconsinites voted for

I don't recall union busting being a specific part of Walker's platform at all.

I think the time has come where the DNC and its cozy thing with unions is wearing thin with the majority. Questions have been raised before on whether public sector employees should be permitted to unionize at all.
Legislators running and hiding isn't the answer either.
I guess you can't get campaign money doing whats needed to have been done for some time, but no one wants to make hard choices, just kick it down the road for the next guy.

Err, the word UNION has many meanings and not exclusive of to "Labor Union". So asserting that the Union of States (or Union of Marriage) is the same as Labor Union is patently false and ridiculous.

And that's some impressive grammar skills you have "their"-- obviously not a product of the Wisconsin school system are we?
