Weren't the Less Room Throughout Coach 757s destined to leisure markets with the MRTC MD80s and 737-800s reserved for the business markets? Or is the DFW-LGA route now considered to be one frequented by the polyester set?

JFK and LGA are two different airports.

I knew that. What was I thinking late last night?

DFW-JFK is most likely a feeder for discounted international travel.

I think the DFW-LGA routes are considered the "business market" while DFW-JFK is considered a more leisure traveler market. If B6 starts JFK-MIA next year I bet AA responds with a more shuttle type service to JFK from MIA and or FLL. The upgrade from S80 to 757 on the DFW-JFK route could be just an adjustment for the DL situation.

It almost has to be something other than that. DL only has one non-stop/day on DFW-JFK and it's a 70-seat CRJ. Making all flights 757s seems to be overkill if the DL pullout is the only reason.

Could there be a big increase in JFK flying in the works?

Until last November, when AA shut down the STL hub (and the several times a day STL-JFK), I think that DFW-JFK had only one daily MD-80.

They had a change of heart. It was just uploaded last weekend.

Correct me if i'm wrong but AA (along with many other airlines) drops flights every year with "no intention" of bringing them back just to do just that, bring them back. It usually takes a year or so but the route comes back.
