Dallas-Liberia, 2x weekly 738, 04Feb05.
Dallas-Montego Bay, 4x weekly 738, 02Feb05.

I've been hearing new Miami Caribbean service coming later this winter - Grenada and Antigua - two old AA MIA routes.

MARK,

I'm DEAD serious !!

What(in your opinion), in GODS name do we have to do, to get the "bean counters" to FINALLY give the Thumbs up to PVD/MIA. ???

PVD/DFW has been "on a roll" since It's inception(Imagine how much $$ they lost on that , by delaying.

PVD/MIA would be a "mirror Image" of success(like PVD/DFW)

I swear to the "Almighty above" that HDQ, in this regard, does NOT know what they're doing, AND..........., no one can say there is'nt a spare A/C lying around(Think "ARIZONA") !!!!!!!!!!!!!

NH/BB's

PS,
Anyone who may suggest that a PVD/MIA would come at the expense of BDL's 'lone' MIA flt, or the BOS/MIA flights, needs to see the overbookings on those afformentioned flights !!!!!!!!!!!!

pps,

AND as Former Moderaator will attest, PVD, by adding a lone PVD/MIA, would be no where near being the cause of re-staffing PVD with TWU rampers !!!.

Give it time. It will come eventually. I have no idea, when, though. AA has had it on their "coming soon" list for at least five years. No way it would replace MIA-BDL...that is one of MIA's best performing domestic routes financially...excellent yields.

Nice to see them offering some point to point out of STL. Let's hope there is more to come

Hey MAH4546,

Any word of MIA-PHX or MIA-SAN anytime soon? When we get connecting flight info from the departing stations in the Carib I'm always amazed how many are connecting in MIA on HP to PHX. I'm surprised that this route still hasn't been added.

In terms of new domestic mainline routes, they are planning on adding/resuming Phoenix, Seattle, Kansas City, San Diego, Aguadilla, and Providence. However, I have no timeline for any of them. The main domestic growth will continue to be Eagle. Birmingham, Alabama is supposed to be next.

I've been wondering why the DEL service wasn't launched from JFK.New York has a sizeable Indian population. Queens county alone has close to 400,000 Indians living there.

NY is home to the largest Indian community in the United States, so of course the powers that be decide ORD would be a better place to launch service from.

Walter Aue should look at the demographics of the NYC market.

These idiots would launch STL-LIM and wonder why it wasnt working...

It took 9 years of annual hounding by the PVD airport folks to get DFW. Since the day it started they have been asking for a second DFW and a MIA. It takes a long time to open AA eyes to certain things...

DEL-ORD can be done with a polar routing, DEL-NYC doesn't work out as nicely. Taking the pure westerly routing means reduced payload due to winds over the North Atlantic.

Also, if you've got CO flying EWR-DEL right across the river, why fight with CO over that if you can run it from a market which is relatively untouched?

Not much of a difference, really.

http://gc.kls2.com/

JFK-DEL passes over a good chunk of Greenland, several hundred miles north of Iceland, and extreme Northern Norway and Sweden. It's also 165 statute miles shorter, which would help.

I'll leave it to the market analysts to make the decision, however. I'm sure they did their homework. ORD has loads of feed, which probably makes a difference.

AA is running short of 777s. They are freeing up 4 777s by downguaging 1 DFW-LGW flight, 1 MIA-EZE flight, and the RDU-LGW to 767s. These 4 777s will allow them to fly the upcoming ORD-DEL and DFW-KIX flights later this year. Next year, they will get 2 new 777s that will be used on the ORD-PVG (Shanghai, China) route next year.

Isnt the RDU-LGW under contract for a 777, or at least a 3 cabin airplane?

Last time I looked in SABRE for flights around the end of the year it was a 767.
