This doesn't look good. They enabled a child molester for 9 years. I would imagine the school and even Paterno could be facing civil suites for every kid molested after they knew what a criminal Sandusky was.

Joe Paterno, the legendary football coach, who has been head coach at Penn State since shortly after the end of the Revolutionary War. I don't think he is culpable; but, I think some of the Penn State administration are in deep doo-doo. According to the news I've seen, when the graduate assistant caught the guy in the act several years ago, he went to Coach Paterno with the information. Paterno supposedly went to the school administration at once. Nothing was done from there.

Paterno will have some hard questions about why he did not fire the guy, or at least suspend him pending investigation of the accusation. For the good of Penn State and the football program, it may be time for him to retire.

The guy had keys and was still using the gym three weeks ago. He never wondered, hum why didn't he get in trouble? And it was not just one incident but he was caught at least 3 times and a mother complained to campus police once. There was a clear pattern. Paterno had to know he resign because of these issue but still let the guy on campus? He might not be legal guilty but he certainly is morally.

What are you talking about? Who is Joe Pa?

You really are out of the loop!

Lived in PA about as long as Joe Pa has been coaching. Which is a long time. He seems to be in remarkable condition mentally and physically for a man of 85. His teams still win way more than they lose and it would be so very sad to see him go out on such a sour note.

I think the only reason he hasn't quit is I think he's afraid if he retires he'll be dead within months. Joe Pa is a class act, he'll do the right thing.

It would seem he didn't not by any standards of decent behavior.

Joe Pa was cloned 75 years ago.......he is already enshrined in a statue at Beaver Stadium. Any negative press about Joe Pa is quickly dealt with in a similar fashion to dissing J Edgar....

How the bleep do you know one thing about Joe Paterno? He's smarter asleep than you are awake. According to local news Joe Pa isn't involved. Stick to what you know which is nothing.

Was an opinion on some local paper where he knew, reported and didn't follow up on it.
You report and its done I think. Dude wanted Joe Pa out...but look what I just found:

"Mr. Paterno has been interviewed by the investigators -- you can see that he has testified in the grand jury, that he reported this to individuals in the administration ... as far as what occurred that night," Ms. Kelly said.

She added: "We believe that under the statute he had a responsibility to report it to school administrators, and he did that."

Just a good Joe

He reported to the AD and then washed his hands of it. That in anyone's book is not enough. I said legally he is off the hook but certainly not morally. The guy was an employee of the coach, he never questions why his child molester coach is still around and nothing happened? He never tells any of his police officer friends you might want to look into this? Not after the first, second or third time the coach is caught with his pants down on school property?

What kind of sick people want to defend this behavior? Your and my ideas of not doing anything wrong are very different.

You have no proof of what transpired behind the scenes, only supposition. Top that.
