The teacher confiscated the "bomb"

Apparently she was confident enough of her bomb detectin abilities to determime that it was a bomb, but that it wouldn't go off and kill her class full of kids.

The police cnief said it was "innocous"

No charges were filed.

These people were not scared. They did nothing that any reasonable person would do if they felt threatened in any way. They knew it wasn't a bomb, and they knew damned well that the kid wasn't attemptimg to pull a bomb hoax.

Screwed the pooch, indeed...

And people defend the idiocy of the allen wests and rush limbaughs of the world, while they rake in the dough

That is not what people who are scared or feel threatened do.
