Straight out of the liberal democrat playbook. Instead of answering the question another is posed to distract from the origional. If you want to discuss Bush I will happily debate you in a thread concerning Bush. This thread concerns Kerry so lets talk about him and why dont you open a thread about Bush and we will talk about him in that thread.

The original question is straight out of the ultra conservative play book. Ask a leading one sided question to put the candidate, or side on the defensive. To make sure your (GOP) side does not have to defend its actions. Instead of an equal open two sided debate. Then anyone who deviates from the defensive, and question their candidates ability. Gets the hollow follow up. Be happy to discuss this in a different time and place.

Why not just list Sen. Kerry's accomplishments, his voting record in the Senate etc..

By not doing so you do not allow the Senator any credit nor do you give the readers here the opportunity to form an opinion.

What is the Senators position on Labor?

Just think if Kerry had only married a billionaire earlier, he could have been seating RIGHT NEXT to Hanoi Jane!

If I understand your post, Senator Kerry did not participate in the voting procedures of his office on those issues you have copy and pasted from the Congressional record?

One thing I have learned over the years is that Politics and Political Discussion polarizes the membership.

Many have strong felt feelings toward their political belief system. Some were just raised a certain way by their parents, others have developed and independent views on their own.

Either way, political discussion is very polarizing. This is likely why Samuel Gompers advised against union holding alliances with any particular poitical party.

I still favor removal from the campaigning and financial support of candidates by the union. This does nothing but alienate certain members to be against the union, and in the event the supported candidiate loses, then the winner will remember you failed to support him/her and will not likely listen when you lobby.

The best method is the old method, in which political voting was sacred and not discussed openly. I remember watching older movies where the voting booth was secret for a reason.

Think about it, if organized labor dismantled the AFL-CIO and the money machine, and placed the emphasis back on education of issues and responsible member actions, then we would all be a hell of a lot better off. Some claim this would destroy the working mans voice. Truth is, TWU has proven that some people need to screwed real bad before they can see the truth anyway, and some cannot even see it then, so why waste the time and money? Why not get what you need at the bargaining table instead of a reliance on rich and disgusting political figure heads? We are the voters, we are America, we are suppose to be in charge of our Governement. Instead, we play this game of cash campaign contributions against the rich and get our asses kicked on a regular basis.

People do NOT need to be TOLD who to vote for, anyone that is registered to vote and wants to know, will seek and find the answers he/she needs to make a choice. You might agree with their choice or conclusion, but that is what America great.

That is fine, I was not attacking you.

I am at odds with the whole thread and what it is intended to provoke.

I know who I am voting for, and cannot wait for the results. Problem is, regardless of the outcome of the race for the Whitehouse, the working man is still screwed until he/she gets up off their asses and demands instead of requesting changes.

Nor was I attacking you, Hopeful. I was just clarifying what you posted so I understand.

Gotcha! This post discusses his voting record. I just found some of the facts. We all know how republicans are when it comes to labor. No argument there. I also think Kerry's record on labor is fair game as well.

And you are right! The working person in this country is doomed. Bush is from money. Kerry married into money.

When you look at the $$$$$$$$$$$$$ coming from T. Boone Pickens of Texas funding the Swift Boat Veterans' anit Kerry Ads, you have to look at the even more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ coming from George Soros (major JetBlue investor) and his funding of the MoveOn.Org anti Bush movement, it is plain to see the wealthy in this country elect presidents, NOT the average citizen.

Bush favors big business, Kerry says he does not. Bush admits it, Kerry won't cause he wants the union vote.

Bush was born with the silver spoon, Kerry married into it.

The election process in this country is all BULLSHIT!

Popular vote, Plain and simple. No more electoral college!
