Whose Contract Survives For Fleet Service

Dude they did the same thing in Philly but they used Home Depot as an example for pay rates to scare the sheep.

The lodge President was one who handed them out.

so you see 700 the iam did have a smoke and mirror show .
They used it in both of the larger cities.
It was used to sway the vote , beat the troops down
and give them an easy way out.
Your right theres gotta be a law suit in there somewhere

I was at the mechanic and related vote for most of the day and there was no applications for anything handed out.

What I saw was a copy of WalMart pay and benefits, along with a copy of a WalMart application.

The 'suggestion' was, vote for concessions, as WalMart was the only alternative fleet had.

Sadly, the same argument two former US CSM's made to us.

Insulting, to say the least, regardless of the source.

Our local officers saw the handout, too.

The great iam F/S sellout
Why would a union officer ever even think to tell a member
that home Depot or Walmart was the alternative?

or is that what comes with a closed concession stand?

I'll grant you that I did not see any at the voting poll, but they were handed out on the property and strewn about the breakrooms just a few days before the election. I could name names, but I won't. I don't lie.

regards

I think they still dislike each other very much.

To be appointed to an AGC or VP job you have to help tow the IAM line, and don't rock the boat. Once you're one of the boys it's almost impossible to get voted out. Has anyone ever gone against the IAM endorsed slate and won? Chandlee and Flynn were huge IBT guys and didn't even want the IAM to represent Fleet. Chandlee got one of the first AGC jobs because he helped jam the 1999 contract down our throats, and Flynn was later given VP-at Large because he is best buds with Chandlee. Tony was very outspoken, which is against IAM policy to become one of the boys. He finally saw the light and did what needed to be done to become one of the boys; tow the IAM line, which at times is also the company line.

He also took about a $50k per year pay cut when he became one of the boys.

Edit: To show correct pay cut

I actually meant to say that he took a 50K a year paycut when he became one of the boys. Just goes to show you how sweet those appointed IAM jobs are when someone would take that big of a hit.
