What's It Gonna Take To Get More Crjs?

I have been out on vacation for a few weeks and just found out I'm going to be downgraded to FO unless we take delivery of more CRJs. This totally stinks. I'm going to take a 50% pay cut and also be missing out on a ton of PIC time. When do you think we will be able to start taking delivery of more CRJs? If the 1113 passes, will that be enough, or will U have to secure DIP financing before GECAS saves me from living in poverty again?

Thats a huge question, its the same with the E170s. Knowing US Airways, the junior, furloughed, and wholly-owned people will be screwed again in favor of doing the same plan with more contract carriers.

Everyone has CRJs, and Chautauqua just got thier first E170. They'll have thier conglomerate of two-bit regionals doing ALL of flying, as a "franchise" sooner or later... if history is anything to go by, the unions will sign off on it. :down:

You might want to consider training/education for a different career. It isn't going to get any better industry wide for a long time. Especially with oil at $48+/barrel.
Also, check out the Boyd Report. The RJ will be the next queen of Mojave in the not to distant future. At least the 35/50 seaters.
 
We at main line are also going to get a 50% cut when it's all said and done. If you were smart you would get out of aviation if your young, the salaries will be about the same when it's all said and done. It really sucks.

Thanks for the input guys. I spent my vacation getting a 737 type. I'm not ready to get out of aviation yet. I just want to switch to the winning team.
 
The 170 orders have been temp suspended. There are currently 280 MDA pilots online (included in that # is about 50 that are coming out of training). They have continued the training for sept classes which would lead me to believe that there are more 170's on the way. I have heard that there are at least 5 in US colors ready to come up from Brazil. And about 13 on the assembly line with no other buyers. Time will tell...
 
US Airways will probably not be able to resume RJ delivery's until after it emerges from bankruptcy.

The company told its unions that it had RJ financing arranged through the end of September and that if it failed to reach new labor accords, it would lose RJ financing.

If you're upset, be upset with the mainline union leadership who failed to reach new cost cuts and now face a 23% pay cut, whcih could occur on October 7.

Labor unions will fight this...

IMO, better to take 23% for 6 months, the 15% for 5 years.

Every union's labor leaders, except for the Dispatcher's, have badly hurt the rank-and-file and if you're upset at the new $2.0 billion labor cost cut target then call and complain to your union's leaders. They are the one's who ignored the advice of the advisor's.

At least the 23% the company is pushing for is not retroactive back to May 1st!!!!! Judging by the majority of your post maybe you should think about getting out of the dreaded union and going into managment, they could use you!!!!

Management will not get 23%. The union legal advisors will go in and fight this.

These cuts will impoverish most of the workers on the property. Period. They won't be able to even put gas in thier cars to come to work every day, or stay healthy enough to be productive.

If you and others don't recognize that...then you don't understand the human condition, and are NOT worth "room air".

PITbull stands up for his union... A320 stands up for himself.

I dont entirely agree with unions, but once you are union, the honorable thing is to fight for the rights of all union brothers and sisters.

A320 has no honor.

I dont understand how he can even look at himself in the mirror..
