Help a furloughed pilot decide

... went through 240 to fill just the April classes.

I think this trend makes perfect sense. Assuming most of that 240 were gainfully employed elsewhere, why jump back onto this rocking boat right now? Everyone on the furlough list that possibly can will put off the decision to come back here until they no longer have a choice to say yes or no. I would want to wait until the combined contract is settled if at all possible. But most important, everyone is waiting to see what Arbitrator Nicolau awards the pilots as their new seniority list.

It will be interesting to see how they handle the "final offers" when they do get to the bottom of the list, especially if there are a mix of mainline and E190s in each class.

Furloughees are permitted to bypass the E190 indefinitely.

At this point I'm pretty much staying in aviation. Apparently I have dain bramage. Plus I'm not real good at ferreting out opportunities I guess, 'cause other than being a sim instructor I haven't seen much evidence of those jobs for which I'd qualify.
I had 16 years with TWA got laid off in 2005 by AA, I now work outside aviation industry, never been more happy, best of luck, just remember that commuting sucks.... :D
