Noooo!Honestly? I can't believe I'm gonna say this but, I'd use US Airways. I remember talking to a business traveler who thought AWA was a joke, but was impressed by US Airways. It didn't matter that AWA was the healthier airline financially, he was viewing the comparison from a business traveler standpoint.
US Airways brand has never been 'top tier', always (like AVIS?) number two (or three or four or eight...), but trying harder.
American is an internationally recognized grade-A, business-oriented, professional international airline that just happens to fly to your town.
US Airways is an eastcoast brand thought of as a big regional airline that happens to fly to some international destinations.
Hell, the Wall Street Journal can't even get the name right when it pops up in the news! They still refer to US Airways as USAir (note to WSJ, please update your style manual).
There is no comparison in 'branding' and consumer perception. What's under the hood/behind the curtain is another story, more grounded in reality.
'American' (of course with a new swoosh paint scheme) is the only name to use. Why buy it if you ain't going to use it?
Cheers.
