WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF I SIGN A UNION CARD?

With all the circumstances behind it it is a mixed bag.

The contract was a final offer which was the lesser of two evils it was either take it or have the court impose a worse one. I voted no.

And yes I am happy with the IAM as they did they best they could with the cards dealt to them. I know I was there and part of it.

Hmmmm.......interesting response. Now, the contract was a final offer and the lesser of the evils.......I would think that you would want to be in the same situation again. Wouldn't you want to be able to have ALL the information from both sides and then be able to make a choice?? You didn't have a choice last time and now you may. I would think that you would jump at the chance to have that choice.

And you're happy with the IAM because they did the best that they could with the cards dealt to them........there are now new and different and more cards to be playing with. Don't short your deck. Take a look and see what new cards there are to play with.

I've been there and am here now and I want to know. I would think you would too.

Think about it.........you don't always have to be force fed........YOU DO HAVE A CHOICE. Get ALL the information and then make your choice.......just like you did before. Just don't self impose limitations. There are options.

:D

Ya know, something occured to me while I was in the shower getting ready to go to work.....

ALPA & the company are preparing to spend a not insignificant sum of money and time negotiating a combined contract. One union for both sides but two separate contracts going in, one union and one contract coming out.

It seems that if one or the other contracts automatically survives the merger and the other just goes away, a lot of time & money is about to be wasted. While I can certainly understand ALPA being screwed up enough to go thru a futile exercise, the company is another matter.

AIRWOMAN, 700UW is not disclosing the entire story. His group had many chances to negotiate with the company, but they took a hard-line position. 700UW will tell you that I am lying, but I used to be in a position where I dealt directly with his union. The company submitted several offers and made every effort to extend the olive branch to his group but they turned the other way. Lets not forget the famous "Concession Stand is Closed" slogan.

The bottom line is that the IAM and its members would have been in a much better position today if they had worked with the company. The members should blame their union officials, and not the company.

There were some difficult decisions related to our employees, but we left the company quite proud of the accomplishments and the outcome. The employees should be grateful to the management team for their dedication in doing whatever was needed to protect the franchise and secure their futures. Management and labor worked together as a cohesive team that enable the company to be in its current position.

Yeah, let's not forget the decision to engage in relationships with the spouses of the employees. Yep, that is certainly a record to be proud of......

Wanna share why some of your buds are no longer with the company?

HAWK,

Who the hell are you kidding? Your extending of an Olive Branch is a complete joke. Your offerings to the IAM were going to cost jobs and more money out of the pockets of those whom remained , pure and simple.

How in the world could the IAM go to its Members and ask them to accept fewer jobs and even less money after all that has already been given?

The IAM was painted into a corner...and YOU knew that Judge Mitchell was going to side with the Company by forcing the Outsourcing of some of the IAM's work.

We all know that the BK Judges first responsibility is to the companies investors...NOT the Employee's , The Company knows this too...and you played that Trump Card to perfection.

Spare those of us whom know and understand what took place the diatribe about YOU and the Company trying to work things out beforehand. Working it out beforehand would have meant total capitulation...and with it , hundreds of more jobs being lost forever.

I'm happy that U has survived..and I'm glad to be linked up with HP to hopefully better the circumstances for both sides...but again, Spare me the lies you are telling.

I don't put much weight in anything 700 says because he is, well you know....

But Hawk, don't try spinning the truth here. What you wanted was to dump thousands of jobs down the toilet which is an olive branch being shoved right up our *(&^&!! Don't sugar coat it by saying "hard decisions", it wasn't hard for the top dogs since they made out like the bandits they are.

And, if you were part of it, you should be ashamed and not proud. But I know you're proud and that clarifies your character.

Hawk you are full of it.

You expect the IAM to trust you after you blatantly violate the CBA by outsourcing the Airbus overhaul after the IAM all ready took two rounds of concessions, you could not honor the very contracts you agreed to months earlier.

You and your buddy Everett and Cohen made the decision to steal from the IAM Mechanic and Related employees who made tremendous sacrifices to keep US in business and pay your high salary and fund your pension.

How did you expect the IAM and its members to trust management?

And you knew the IAM would not sit down to talk until Mr Bloch ruled on the Airbus, which by the way we won and it took you going to court once again and have a judge condone your stealing and violating of the contract.

Bottom line is you broke the trust and destroyed the relationship between the IAM and the company and you took it out on the employees by using Judge Mitchell do destroy the CBA and vendor out everything you could and still maintain labor peace and now HP is finding out you guys did not even look into if the work could be done better, faster and cheaper in-house and know your buddy Everett wants to bring work back in-house.

And you only came into negotiations at the very beginning and your buddy Jughead Mckeen run the negotiations while you stayed in your corner office.

Nice of you to omit actually what happened.

Well Cal,

Someone has to tell the REAL story, and not let his misinformation go unchallenged.
