What If Ron Paul Wins Iowa? What Then?

I think it may be time to rename this thread to ...."what if Ron Paul wins .... anything". He got a wopping 9% in FL and yet he was polling so well that he could beat Obama. Something does not add up.

Head to head against the Empty Suit he does well because there is about 30% of the electorate who would vote for a ticket of you and Dell Dude before they'd vote for Obama. Throw in his 10 to 20 percent support and you have a contender at least in the polls.

His foreign policy might make perfect sense to him but it's killing him otherwise. Being right and $5.00 will get you a cup of Coffee at Starbucks.

Ron Paul is the only anti war candidate in the race including Obama, that's why he polls well.

And yet he cannot even come close to winning a primary. I suspect that he polls well on single issues but does not poll well as a whole package or electability. If he did he would be more electable. The only reason he is doing as well as he has is because the bar has been lowered to the floor for the republican candidates. Look who his competition is. Sad that he cannot beat any of them.

Paul has been employing some backdoor delegate moves. I read about it in Iowa. He gets his supporters to become delegates in states. Then at the convention they can cast a vote for him from what I understand from Iowa.I don't know the delegate process for each state, but he must if he's doing this. So he may have 4 delegates now, and could theoretically win the nomination.
This could be interesting.

I love it how Paul supporters talk about how well he does in polls. But then they were saying the same thing in 2008 and did'nt win a single state. Polls are irrelevant if you don't win the nomination.

It will get interesting when Paul decides he is no longer a Republican and runs a third party campaign.

We will see how his poll numbers play out then.

Its pretty hilarious. He never wins, never comes close, even as more and more candidates drop out. But the Paulistas are a cult, you can't reason with a cult, better to just point and laugh.

Kinda like I do when I see Doug Parker's mugshot

Union politics have nothing to do with the fact that Paul does not have a snow balls chance of winning anything. That does not even rais to the level of a poor attempt at deflection.

Depends how you define victory. Far as I'm concerned he's already won.
