What a Piece of Work!

46% of the mechanic and related gave 100% and loss of thier pension.

Each group took major hits, the more you make the more you have to giveback.

You cant compare when you make six figures to someone who made only $30,000.

The point is, everyone gave.

As many pilots at east gave 100% as work at west.

Pilots gave 30% of their compensation to their retirement, which was given away by their union. That was in addition to the, as much as, 70% paycut enjoyed by those not furloughed. Not to mention the obscene "medical".

Was there a protest? No!

In fact, further cuts were voted favorably by 57% of the pilots.

As far as I am concerned, let them wither. They accepted it. Let them eat it. Pompous donkeys too "professional" to complain. Perhaps they can eat the pages of the <sarcasm> company provided contract </sarcasm> that the majority voted for.

I can't believe the arrogance of this guy: (M.M.). To think the pilot group was the only one to make concessions is absurd. I'm sorry M.M. you made the hundereds of thousands of dollars over the years and didn't start planning for your retirement as you should have. Shame on you. To expect a pension from any company, and base your entire existance on it is just poor planning on your part.

One must look back to the seventies, eighties, nineties, and this decade to see where all of the pensions have gone. Just look at the PBGC website and look at all of the companies pensions that have gone to the wind. Shame on you M.M. for not thinking ahead for yourself.

Proper money management is essential to everyone. Yes... that includes all of the employee's at USAirways... The flight attendant, the line mechanic, the reservationist, the customer service help, and YES, you, the captain or first officer... Shame on all of us for not planning better. However...What preytell are you M.M. doing to improve yourself now?!!! Are you setting money away for your retirement or are you thinking its just all going to work out for you in the end.

Dreamer, Your nothing but a DREAMER...

What's fair to one, must be fair to all... If you think that a pilot is more important than a Ramper, sadly, you are mistaken. It takes a huge group of individuals to make an airline work. We are all important and deserve our fair share...

PS, M.M. I hope you never ask me for coffee....

Back in the early 90's when I worked for USAir in Pittsburgh I sat next to a pilot on a flight. He was very arrogant and said the other employees should be thankful for the pilots because without them the airline would not be able to operate. It took me back a little because I wasn't expecting a comment like that. At the time I worked in software development for Flight Planning/Departure Control (anybody remember AFPACS?).

I asked him how he would be able to get off the ground without a flight plan/atc clearance?

No further response the entire flight!

Did any other group take over a 45% W-2 cut and lose a very large pension? (remember it's not how much you make it's the percentage you gave)

While the pilots cuts may have cost them their vacation condos in FLA......30% of $37,000 a year cost some ground crew their homes.
It's not all about you!

i just saw it . what complete jerk off. even scott told him that argument won't fly. we are a team here

every other work group can find a new line of work and replace the pay or come close to
Jerry G knows this all so well that is way the pilot group is so variable
And that can’t be replace attitude. Parker and gang was quoted saying
Why should I pay you more just because there are more people in the back. Plenty of young whippersnappers ready to whipsaw your group
