I could not belive the arrogance! Those of you who have not, MUST watch the 11/28/06 Crew News session in CLT with the Pilots. A PHL Based F/O whose initials are M.M. feels that the pilots givebacks were the most severe. He feels that they are the only group who really needs a raise. He told Scott Kirby it was mangements responsibility to find a way to "eloquently" advise the other labor groups of this. If you have not watched it you must. Pilot Crew news topic Paycuts. If you are based in PHL and you fly with him, I hope you will remember!

I just went on the Hub and the link to the Crew News sessions is missing? Did they relocate it or just pull it?

the fact that they (pilots) make the most it is a true statement that there group was the most severe...every other work group can find a new line of work and replace the pay or come close to it...the skill set of the pilot group is very specialized and the income is hard to replace...I don't think they are the only group that should get a raise, but I don't think most understand what it took to get where they are or do most respect the skill it takes to perform the task of PIC it is a BIG responsibility and the pay should reflect the risk they all face...loss of ticket current med etc. if it is so easy to make the BIG bucks for the easy sit on your butt job...call a flight school, take up lessons and YOU will have a new respect for the skill it takes to be a pilot If any group should be well paid it should be the ones that get you from point A to B safely

My 16 year old brother flies a plane every weekend! All by himself!

This fool should be absolutely ashamed of himself for saying that!

Who the hell does he think he is? As far as im concerned, we all have suffered over the last 5 years.

No, the flight attendants never had a $2 million dollar pension due to them, or any other employee group for that matter. We all took cuts regardless, and with this intergration, all emplyee group contracts need to be adjusted for the better. What an idiot you are!

If any group should be well paid it should be the ones that get you from point A to B safely
SAFELY??? Yup, the last time i checked the flight attendant wee in that group! I want mine!

but I don't think most understand what it took to get where they are or do most respect the skill it takes to perform the task of PIC it is a BIG responsibility and the pay should reflect the risk they all face...loss of ticket current med etc.

I guess you could get Goober from the local fillin station to work on the aircraft instead of a skilled AMT....

most people can learn to fly a C-172 and do touch and go's
It's a small difference from a Heavy AB 330 full of people gas and cargo crossing the pond in the middle of the night...
you said it! I will never forget a Captain we had in CLT...he told me once "Aww hell they could train a Monkey to do this"! He was talking about flying the 757! My point was that all groups gave a lot! And for this man to say F the rest, is a bit off base!

with all due respect that is the other skilled group it takes a lot to gain AMT as well...yes you want skilled AMT's it take's more skill to fix than fly...but real skill is to pour diet coke with out the fizz

IRS, VNAV, LNAV, CAT 3, pretty tough across the pond keeping an eye on the plane flying itself.

Look, the pilots deserve to make good money. Responsibility and accountablity deserve a fair salary.

What they had in the past was excessive, what they have at US after two trips through BK seems a bit low, but at HP/US it is low for all employee groups and will continue to be as long as the unions are fighting amoung themselves and not DP and Al.

P.S. When the autopilot is on thank your friendly AMT ;)

He must still be a student pilot flying with solo privileges then. You can't get a pilot license until age 17.

Furthermore, the cuts each individual has taken is all relative to the next guy. What is the average percentage reduction in income that a pilot, A&P, F/A, etc. took? The pilot who spouted off, however, should be given 20 lashes with a wet noodle.

Keep in mind that no-one can find the actual quote and post it here...I will believe it when I see it in context. So far this is just more pilot bashing and to be honest, we pilots do not care what anyone else thinks or feels anymore!

It is on video on the Hub. It took me awhile to find it and watch it. It is the latest CLT pilot meeting, the sixth topic which is called pay cuts.
M.M. is the pilot on that topic.

**Note the room revolving around him as he speaks**
