Well..just Gonna Thro It Out

That #3 must have trained in the same school of empathy as the senior mama who showed up at JW's alleged town hall meeting at DFW in June03 and announced that she "had just found out"--2 months after the vote & 1 month after implementation of the RPA-- that she was going to have to start flying in order to retain her benefits. She said that she didn't care how many junior flight attendants had to be furloughed, JW was to get this travesty corrected. She had "earned the right to get her benefits without flying."

She was outraged when a friend of mine walked up to her after the meeting and said, "Honey, collecting benefits without working is called retirement." :p

Miami - my response was to your statement about the union having problems but its about working together for the betterment of the whole not just the most junior.

I can not see where it has ever been to the betterment of the junior person. You want the betterment of the whole when the senior people are affected - however, if the senior have to share in the "cost" for the betterment of all - they are the first to whine.

Your right. Most people have their own agendas. We have such a large cross section of people that work here that you'll never get 100% agreement on anything. I think we have all worked with people that pick and chose the "rules" that fit them. The most senior flight attendants took a much larger pay cut than I did even though its the same percentage. I think protecting our payscale is the most important item we have. I have no idea how "no one had to be furloughed" could be accomplished with out the entire group losing much more money forever. Although furlough is an awful thing, I think this time it was necessary to help us all in the long run (both active and furloughed). I said before I would be willing to take furlough to ensure that the wages I would be coming back to if recalled was worth it. We will have a tough enough time getting pay increases from our current scale, I couldnt imagine starting from a point even lower.

If Flyboy is in limbo with what to do right now I would say stay away from places where you feel there is no unity and that your coworkers are all selfish b%$#@'s. If this is his attitude going in, I can only imagine how nice it would be to work with him.
You know what Miaami? You will have the opportunity to work with me one day, and you will have no idea who I am, nor about how bitter I am....Why? Because I am EXTREMELY professional when I do my job...Unlike certain F/A's at AA, my personal opinions are not known while I am at work....In case you have forgotten, these message boards are here so one can express their own opinion. Instead of expressing yours you continue to criticsize others. You continue to tell me to "Grow Up", but what comes out of your mouth is the most childish responses to date. I am, and will be going back to the job I love....Not to warped mindless and selfish F/A's like you, Not to a "Union" who just takes my money and with no regard to anybody elses well-being except their own, and not to a company who has been completely mismanaged. Yes, these do exist at AA but I try and forget about these negatives and focus on whats right. Instead, I will go back to a job that I enjoy. It just baffles me though that you and others can't see what is happening out there...Get your head out of the sand a realize peoples lives and futures are at stake.

Look ,your the one who can't take the offical word from the company or the union as good enough. You have to come to a message board and see what the rumors are. Fact is there are no planned call backs this year.

Miaami

You are completely missing the point of my posts....So you know what? I am not even going to try to explain them to you....All I am going to say is , have you not been listening to Jimntx etc?....The company has worded thier statements in a very ambigious way. Also, this particular post had NOTHING to do with Recalls....again I was just posting information pertaining to the APFA....Can you read? , or has the high altitudes affected your brain?

What Unity?

miaami~

Have you stopped taking your medication?.................When is enough enough for you?

Flyboy~

Sorry I got you confused with fly4aliving, he was the one who called me a parasite.

Come on people, we've actually almost been cival for awhile on this board...Rise above.
I agree -

Miami - Thanks for responding to my post kindly - I thought you would attack me - but you did not - so "Thumbs up buddy!"

According to a newspaper in Dallas, the union (APFA) is deeply split. The executive committee declared that 16 ballots previously declared ineligible to vote were valid ballots. The eligibility validity of the previously declared ineligible ballots is likely to be challenged. The ballots were apparantly all STL ballots. The newspaper notes that since STL voted nearly 100% for THB, the election might be overturned.

In another bit of news, JW's assistant (executive secretary?) resigned in a tearful message alleging conspiricies inside APFA.

And for a third piece, that junior nAAtives and TWA F/As are angry at JW, that is as it should be. After all he took away their furlough pay to pay for concessions for those remaining on the proprety. The furlough pay issue was not even on AA's menu of possible concessions for APFA. JW suggested it. As I listened to JW testify in court, I became quite impressed in JW's ability to totally disegard junior about to be furloughed F/As, either AA or TW. In simple, he sacrificed them for the senior.

You are correct L1011 and as Miaami so eloqently put it

Although furlough is an awful thing, I think this time it was necessary to help us all in the long run (both active and furloughed).
.

You mean necessary because you kept your job Right?.....I never wanted to see anyone lose their jobs and was for doing whatever it took to keep those in a job..Unfortunately, No scenarios were ever looked at because JW and company decide what was best for themselves.......All I have to say is watch out....We are All coming back soon!!

It certainly was necessary to have sacrifices to keep AA out of bankruptcy. However, how those sacrifices impacted different parts of the workforce and the process by which those sacrifices were arrived at deserve serious scrutiny.

News Flash...JW came back from the pep rally in DCA and refused to accept the resignation of his secretary despite the fact her job opening had already been posted. She will return 5/17. Perhaps someone should start a Tabloid in Useless, TX.

George Price is a big supporter of John Ward. He backs him on everything he does and that's pathetic. I'm glad George is finally gone!

MiAAmi you need to get a life! I might me a tough son of a ***** and an *** on this board, but I keep it professional in the tube! You may just be pleasantly surprised to see how many of the OVL's don't return.

We all know how AA is and they will still fly us short, tired and beat to ****! I have heard and seen tons of complaints regarding AA f/a's. What do people expect when you're on duty for 14 hours after only having 5 hours of sleep if you're lucky and doing it over and over again? We can only take so much of this abuse from AA and its puppets (crew schedulers)!

If John Ward is left in office for the next 4 years, we may have no flight attendants left! Oh yeah we get to open negotiations in 2006 but I'm guessing JW will get a kickback from AA and screw us again. How does everyone like the 1.5% pay raise we just got? A 1.5% increase will not do you ****! Thanks JW for all the screwing! Oh by the way, has anyone heard from JW? Once again he is hiding from all of us.

Once again, if its so bad, why don't you leave? OH, wait a second, lots of people work 50+plus hours a week and travel all the time. Lots of people find a way to work on 5 hours of sleep. Its called the f-ing REAL WORLD, get used to it. Everyone has an a-hole boss that makes them work hard. Stop your bitching and do your job. We all do it everying f-ing day. That is every day, 5, maybe 6 days a week not 3 or 4.

oneflyer;

After reading your "11th" OVERALL post, I thought you were trying to imitate TONY SOPRANO !!!!!!!!!!

I suspect sir/ms., that you don't have a CLUE as to what AA flight attendants have gone through, or are GOING THROUGH with this A$$ HOLE company. Factor in a phoney union leader to boot, and you've got a ton of employees, that LEGITIMATELY don't "give a #### " !!!!!!!!

Pay some dues on this board, before you become an overnight EXPERT !!!
