Webcast is finally available and my what a hush has fallen over this board. Any thoughts so far? I'm actually at work right now and can't turn it up loud enough to hear so I just wanted to know what's happening. It's driving me crazy!

Do they really expect us to use a modem to watch it. Broadband (DSL) isn't available. Check back soon.................Unbelievable....Dave looks like a blur..................

I tried to log on and can't. We have a cable modem, but the program keeps opening music match jukebox and not my windows media player. I give up. So much for being able to keep informed.

The $64,000 question remains.. will there be any good news from this??????

I'm on a broadband connection and clicke on the Modem. It still works just fine. Try it that way.

Did the same thing -- we're 20 minutes into this thing and the epiphany is that LCC's are wonderful.

Well, Siegel's explanation for why "we can't be Southwest?" was an exercise the classic strawman rhetoric. Set up a false comparison and knock it down. the point about Southwest is that their employee W-2s are comparable or better than ours but their NONLABOR COSTS are considerably lower than ours.

Hrm?

P.S. The blurry modem connection makes him look a little like an alien I saw in some SciFi movie.....

P.P.S. He gave such a great pitch for the LCC's that maybe he should get a gig as an ad-man for one of them.

I did and have the audio, the video is a blur. Modem is at 25 Kbps. Pretty sad that we can't do a broadband braodcast. Sort of says it all..................

A few tidbits for those who can't hear:

U can't become WN, too many differences.
Our employees have carried us and they are frustrated (!)
We have loyal customer base (4 million frequent fliers)
Going to keep codeshare with UA and * Alliance

We need:
better schedules
more frequent service
more cities
better website
better IFE (ala Jet Blue)

I just learned that there is no rearview mirror in the cockpit.

Apparently that is a reason why we shouldn't look back at, say, the fact that Siegel as this management team have broken their word on numerous occasions.

P.S. Oops, gotta get the popcorn out of the microwave!

Oy. So, in other words, "We can't be like Southwest because we're not like Southwest." Brilliant reasoning.

Yep, I was staggered by his immense intellect. I fear his cranial powers.

Now he's setting things up for a shrink in order to grow approach.

P.S. Now he has a lame-o graphic of Herb Kelleher's face on an Uncle Sam head declaring "I Want your Jobs!"
