" Way down South in the land of Cotton,....Old times there are NOT Forgotten......."

Right, because we all know there are no racists in the north!
And to the uninformed, like you, the Civil War took place because of a lot more than slavery!
I doubt very seriously if taking down a flag or not selling them on Walmart.com will change the people who used it as a display of their racism.
I guess it's OK to trample someone e else's rights to display their heritage in order to promote another's?
Also, people don't diss the current POTUS because of his skin color....they diss him because he's a Demorat, Libtard, Socialist.

You need to watch a doc on Netflix called "Losing Iraq" to really learn what an incompetent idiot is sitting in the WH right now!

Given you post the same garbage Roof did, I will defer to you on this one.

As the drivel you spew rarely regards the topic at hand, don't really see how you can defer anything at all!

The people in the North were nearly as racist as those in the South. That is not at issue.

Read what President Davis said when he discussed talked about the war with the North and why. You are right that States rights were a major part of it. The right for a state to own another human being.

The issue is SC, Georgia and other places has nothing to do with private ownership. Any idiot who wants to place a Confederate Battle Flag on their private property can continue to do so. The issue is the use of the flag on public land.

Regardless of what the original intent of the flag was, it was co-opted by hatred. For the reason it has to go to the museum where it belongs.

And like I said and you ignored, taking down a flag will not change peoples view on racism, but go ahead and step on others heritages while promoting others....black history month ring a bell?

The flag is a symbol of racisim and hatred. There is no reason a state should endorse it.

Nothing to ignore. I think it's pretty obvious that people's views will not be changed due the removal of the flag and the argument to remove it has nothing to do with that.

Still trying to understand how removing a flag does anything about the real problem, which was a fringe element lunatic who was motivated by hatrid.

Trying to make the excuse that "the Confederate flag made him do it" is its own brand of lunacy, and nothing but a distraction from the real situation at hand.

What I will say is that the black Christian community in Charleston handled the aftermath in an admiral and far more civilized manner than either Ferguson or Baltimore did with their tragedies.

Then again, in the South, manners matter.

Oh, and those "Dukes of Hazzard" toys just tripled in value overnight:

http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/dgreenfield/only-banning-the-dukes-of-hazzard-can-stop-the-return-of-the-confederacy/

Beyond ridiculous.

England still doesn't ban the Glenfinnan or Saltire banners, and they were smart enough to reverse the Act of Proscription 40 years after it was enacted...

Meanwhile, in the country who has twice elected a black president, and has twice had black Secretaries of State & Attorneys General, we're immediately labeled as institutionally racist, and need to invent outrage some 150 years after the fact.

All over the acts of a deranged individual?

Hail Alinsky.

One has nothing to do with the other. People who are defending the battle flag just want to link the two so that they can keep the flag flying. Lowering the flag will not cure racism. It will not change peoples minds. Noone of consequence is saying the flag made anyone do anything. The issue is the symbolism and meaning behind the flag. It is a constant reminder of the hatred associated with the flag and it is on a state building controlled by the legislature of the state.

The Nazi Swastika did not make anyone do anything. Not displaying the flag anywhere in Germany does not change peoples minds. There is still a significant number of people in Germany who support the ideas of the Nazis. They do not display the flag because it is an affront to humanity and decency.

If you cannot see the difference between what happened in SC and the other locations then I really do not know what to say. The biggest difference is the people involved. Law enforcement vs private individuals. There are others but I am sure they are lost on you as well. Given your propensity for ignoring relevant facts such as the the location of the flag and the government branch in charge of the flag and saying that it is not on a state building, I am not surprised that you cannot differentiate between these incidents.

Do you even read or listen to what you post? The Youtube vid did not suggest to take down the Jefferson memorial. Watch the video first, then post.

A Op-ed piece with blatant lies? Seriously? Sanger? Confederate conspiracy? Food stamps? What a bunch of BS.

Yet Germany does ban the flying of the Swastika. Look at the makeup of Congress. Yes we are still racist and sexist. Not as much as we were but the fact that we have had a few minorities in positions of power does not mean that racism and sexism is a thing of the past.

I think we all are. Some are able to break away and change, others just get sucked in and are lost.

You mean using the "N" word like BaRack? Yep, no double standard there!
Can you imagine the repercussions if a white politician had done the same?
