Sad and bitter Queen --- all of you - you don't realize you are sitting on 20 billion in debt.. uneconomical aircraft (365 of them)... high labor costs... should i go on???

Are you one of those people who still quotes the previous contract?...

As of July 1, AA's total debt was about $17.3B, and net debt was $11.4B if you take into account unrestricted cash and short term investments. Or, in language you might understand better, a lot less than $20B.

Ok so let us entertain the 17.3 billion debt and 6 billion unrestricted cash..... 17.3 billion is nearly TRIPLE what your unrestricted cash COULD pay off, and then if that happened, it would bankrupt the airline, because you would have no unrestricted cash on hand. My point of the whole comment was this.. The AA unions gambled when they kept AA out of BK by giving concessions... The bashing of AFA carriers and the AFA in particular is foolish - mainly b/c, AA didn't even have to file BK to get its unions to GIVE BACK.. What will you give if AA would happen to file - or better yet what will you say when AA tells you they can't raise labor costs due to debt load and already high labor costs among their peers, therefore raissing their CASM drastically, The high cost of fuel etc... This is what most carriers are facing now - not just AA, however AA and CAL have 2 things that the others don't... Highest labor costs, and pensions... That is what will be in play.. Of course, I know you don't like to hear what I am telling you but just think about it for a little bit. Entertain me and ponder it.

There you go again, introducing facts into the discussion. Have you no shame, sir? :D

To compare to UAL, at July 1, UAL's total debt was about $16.8 billion and net debt was about $12.55 billion, after subtracting unrestricted cash and short term investments.

In other words, UAL has more net debt than AMR, even though AMR has revenues several billion larger with which to service and pay down that debt. Everyone except for WN is debt-challenged, but UAL appears to have an even larger problem than AMR. And that's after spending over $660 million on bankruptcy lawyers, advisors, accountants and investment bankers. And screwing its unsecured debt holders and pilots.

Not to mention the fact that every one of UAL's aircraft and all of its facilities are leveraged. Hell, even the bag tractors and carts were mortgaged...

OTOH, AA still owns a fair percentage of their own fleet free and clear, not to mention their facilities and ground assets.

But, please do keep on believing that because UAL fleeced their creditors and employees that they're the more nimble competitor...

Its a great point to make when you have to start it with an insult directed at every AAer. If you want to contribute to the discussion you should get some facts and not made up numbers and generalizations.

Don't you see, Mikey? She is completely unable to post a coherent thought because she lives in a dreamworld where UA rules. Certainly, the nastiness, including the outright racism she displayed on another airline forum on this board, is nothing more than indication of her own self-loathing and feelings of inadequacy.

I am sure her flying partners would agree. We all know the type. I call them "Galley clearers," because the minute they walk in and start spewing, everybody leaves.

StrAAight - The best thing happened last night. I met some of my JetBlue friends on their layover last night and we ran into some AA folks so I invited them over to my house for cocktails from the hotel and then out to dinner. We are at my house having cocktails and of course the conversation ventured to airline talk. Contracts came up, unions, etc... Well I told the AA folks - hey, you want to see what your co-workers are saying? So I pulled up usaviation which they had not seen before. I showed them your posts, and this thread.. They were appauled. They could not believe you guys were going on about how good it is at AA and the lies about domestic and international etc.... They were rolling, and suggested you must be part of the union or corporate "trash" as they put it... Then they went on to explain to me how the APFA sold out to the company and how the F/As are mad as hell about it. They said that they reopened the voting for F/As only after a no vote had taken place and you could change your vote from a no to a yes but not a yes to a no... and the reopening of votes only happened with the F/As and none of the other work groups due to their yes votes... The best part is - the 4 or 5 cheerleaders on your board are just that - Enjoy your dreamworld of perfection and dillusion though, I definitely know you are among the few who feel this way. Good Day..

OMG last night i was having dinner with friends and I thought what better fun like you, lets pull up a website. A bunch of people crowded around single screen, talking about work. What could be more interesting or fun? Well they read what some usairways express FA who got their first job with a major airline went on and on about knowing everything, yet in fact knew nothing.

BTW your friends seem to have the same bad info about AA as you. Big surprise right?

The AA flight attendants weren't friends - if you could read, then you would know - I had just met them. LOL , I have only worked with majors, but if it weren't for express flight attendants you wouldn't have your job. Unfortunately, you are not intelligent enough to see that and therefore making comments to portray them as inferior.. VERY VERY hysterical and sad at the same time... and by the way - your post makes ZERO sense. I am not trying to bash you, but sometimes the truth hurts.. Oh and by the way - I took your co-workers to dinner after drinks at my house... Lets just say if I ran for office at your orginization - even you would vote for me and never know the difference... Gotta love you Mikey!!!

Ms. Donttouch's latest rants indicate to me that, at least wherever she's posting, it's already "Happy Hour," and she has already drained a few bottles.

One has to wonder how pathetic one's life has to be, and how much self-hatred they feel, when they have to go on and on, desperately trying to impress others with how great their own situation is.

Too funny...Just the way I want to spend an evening. Going over to an acquaintance's house to vist USAviation.com over drinks and dinner.

What a joke.

You are, indeed, a very sad, individual. No wonder your name is "Donttouch," because, after all, who would want to?

Just the way I would want to spend the evening...to have some bitter whack job invite me over to read her posts on USAviation.com!

I call BS on this obvious nutcase. She rants and raves like an outpatient from Bellevue.

Let me guess...Single? (and, by the looks of it, going to stay that way. )

What a nut job.

Oh my post makes zero sense, and this one does. Does help explain some things about the poster.

Then again statements like this are just too bizarre
I DO NOT rely on this job as my primary source of income (not that its any of your business anyway)... OR I am not trying to bash you, but sometimes the truth hurts..

Lets just say if I ran for office at your organization - even you would vote for me and never know the difference...
WRONG!

Oh StrAAight, call me what you want - whackjob, alcoholic, addict - whatever. The best part of it all, you still portray youself as a fool. I can drain several bottles and still be in better touch with reality than you. Mikey, don't take after StrAAight or listen to her advise or you will turn out just as miserable, and middle aged relying on false hopes just as she is... I love the assumptions though, It is nothing short of FABULOUS, makes you seem precious... I am just proud to say that I am SURE that I have a better reputation than yourself, but hey thats nothing to brag about considering the ease of the task at hand. Keep it coming StrAAight, I love your posts!!!! But this time please respond to what I have posted instead of going totally off your rocker with the bashing, it shows inconsistency and lack of attention span, thats Not attractive!!!

You don't need to be wearing a flight attendant uniform. You need a straightjacket.

...and a muzzle, too.

I know for a FACT that you are lying... and that is SAD!!!! If you are working a transcon do you get a crew meal? No....As for the 36 hours, I also know that you do trips without 36 hours off... Most of all, you don't even know that you cannot bid back and forth and do domestic and international in the same month. AT AA you bid to do International or you bid to do domestic, alot of domestic f/as at AA aren;t even qualified on anything but the S80 737 and 757.... I can't believe you DON'T know that, oh wait - yes i can. When I said BID Europe or Asia, It means to be based there.. and that you cannot do.. It is sad that you are telling your members to lie about the 2 hour callout and blame it on kids, car problems, etc.. What a shame!!! I would venture to say that AA would say "That is your problem, not mine" you have a 2 hour obligation... you are obviously way out of the loop, and
you are proving it with every post. I quoted you whole post by the way b/c every sentence is wrong and untruthful.

Here she is again. Lost as usual. Now I am lying. Funny, sice I work here and actually know the rules. When working a transcon, no crew meals, unless you consider a turkey wrap and some chips a crew meal. When working NRT, PVG, DEL, crew meal? YES. Most trips usually have 24 hours off before the next. Do they require that? NO. Does AA schedule them with that? Most often, they have more. Only on Reserve does this become a problem. When it is a problem, there is usally a manning issue at hand. Minimum, I think is 12-14 hours depending on the duty day/duty aloft. Some require 36, NRT and PVG. DEL and sometimes PVG require 48. We the F/A, not the company, can reduce it to 24 hours to help in flying high time, except on reserve. I never said you could bid domestic and international in the same month. I said you could fly both in the same month. International reserves do it all the time. Also, on specific holiday months, F/A's from both operations can pick up option II trips from the other division. So, once again, I must be lying and you speak the gospel even though you don't work here and apparantly your "friends" are idiots!!! I was confused about your lack of clarification regarding being based overseas. Personally, I wouldn't want to live in London or other parts of Europe considering the great value of the US dollar. Some would and would like the chance to live overseas. More power to them, they also could have interviewed for UA as well. After SJU closed, not too many non-natives stayed. So I am not sure how well it would be received here at AA. If I am not mistaken, the call out language is 2 hours till sign in. I haven't encountered this in years, so I am not up to date on the latest language. If AA gives us a short call out, they are more than happy if you just show up for departure. Short call outs aren't that likely, that is why they have standby. Also, places like ORD,LGA and DFW have a ton of commuters which can volunteer for short call out. This helps a lot as well. What other garbage do you want to spew so I can debunk it as well.
