US to Take Blankets Off Flights

In short, I'm cutting Doug Parker and the rest out of my life and it will be a great pleasure to one day mail him my cut up US Airways Club card, Credit Cards along with a nice note telling him Exactly how I feel.

Is that a promise? Will you finally leave US? We are waiting with bated breath!

Yeah, the CAL boards are very entertaining. They think they have it so bad. Apparently, they weren't around to experience CAL during the Lorenzo days.

How disturbing. I never thought CO would match USAir on this....

I wouldn't exactly say the CO matched US. It's more like CO matched UA since it's UA who CO is getting into bed with. Not US.

And until DL, NW and AA match the 500 mile reduction it doesn't mean a heck of a lot.

I sure wish that CO/UA had gone the CO route, though. I am disappointed in CO with regard to these decisions. At least the product is consistently good.

It seems that CO ultimately agreed that the change was disturbing and has since changed its policy:

Dear US1YFARE

Earlier this month, we announced that OnePass® members will earn the actual miles flown rather than a minimum of 500 miles per flight for tickets purchased on or after Nov. 15, 2008.

We've listened, and our Elite members think this change unfairly dilutes the benefits of the OnePass program. Therefore we are exempting you from this change, and Elite members will continue to earn the 500 mile minimum on all segments flown under the current policy.

We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you again soon.

Sincerely,

Mark Bergsrud
Sr. Vice President, Marketing Programs and Distribution
