US Airways threatening to strike - should we support them?

Yes the members do live above their means, seems no one is taking OT in CLT MTC, line, hangar, stores etc...

And certain members are whining about it.

I guess they are ok with the company not negotiating in good faith.

Not only that, but there are many that live beyond there means and living paycheck to paycheck. Those people can't afford to walk out and not receive a paycheck even for a day.
Yes, that's the other main reason. I just don't see anyone anywhere garnishing enough support for a strike....
Aside from that, I doubt the NMB would release anyone to strike given the current economic and unemployment status of the nation.

The NMB is not there to consider the impact of the strike as a condition on whether or not they declare an impasse and walk away from mediation between the parties,, that's up to the President and Congress, the NMB is there to try and mediate  and do it the same whether its a large carrier or small, reality may be different but that could be due to other things, such as making the NMB an acceptable fall guy for a Unions reluctance to push the issue of getting released.

Of course the NMB or any other government entity would never succumb to or react to pressure from greater forces. Of course not.

Should we?  YES

Would we?   HA!

TWU allows scabs to work on struck work already.  "It's their overtime deal, so mind your own business" they said at the time.
