US AIRWAYS in talks to buy A380

Sky, that is absolutely hilarious. You have to be careful with those elevators or you'll be decapitated!

sky high states: Didnt that happen to an F/A at World? Or Continental? or charter airline?.....that became a "preflight check" after that incident......try to OPERATE THE ELEVATOR WITH THE DOOR OPEN. (shouldnt operate)

only stating opinions

Try being galley hag on the DC-10 in the lower galley. Sending up 300 hot meals via the C-lift. (elevator). Handling 4 or 5 ovens down there. Now, that's ALOT of cooking.
That's not the only cooking that went on down there.

Yep it was World 1979. She tried to ride the lift WITH the meal cart. Her heel got caught and it chopped her in half. Douglas Corp then fixed it to prevent that. Yikes. Where is Myrtle? Well, half oh her is up here and half down there. YUK. Poor thing

sorry in advance for being way off topic.........but since you guys brought up the elevators on the DC-10's and L-1011's, I remember a F/A being killed when the elevator she was in malfunctioned. One of the US majors flying at the time.

**Sorry beachboy, you beat me to the punch.........

I want to say this happened at UAL too... she opened the door to look and see if it was coming- it sure was.

And holla! to that USY1.

It was Eastern Airlines on the L1011.
F/a in lower galley was fatally injured when she was half in the elevetor shaft in the lower galley when the F/A above sent the elevator down. Very sad.

Lockheed had to perform a wiring mod that would not allow elevator movement from above with lower door open.

Oh who knows. You know after the years the story gets all messed up. I know something happened because the a/c retrofit occured for the lift. Sad none the less.
