US Airways Confirms It Has Hired M&A Advisors For Possible AMR Takeover

All I have to say is who has a newer fleet?

Who is making a profit and who is not?

Who is in chapter 11 protection and who is not?

And who has new envoy class on International and who doesnt?

B6 is a totally different airline than AA, no synergies and nothing in common.

AS and AA would not benefit either.

And the DOJ would never allow AA and DL to merge.

AA does in fact have much better options than LCC like B6, Alaska, and yes DL. US has an inferior route structure, inferior fleet, and inferior premium service compared to AA. US is the trailer park where AA is Buckingham palace. US would be TWA all over again. In fact, it is a carbon copy. Yes, we are in CH-11 but you were twice and have had by far the lowest compensation and the worst work rules among the majors for YEARS. Some US employees make the same as regional employees. Even now we still are amongst the highest paid with excellent benefits with the best scope and work rules with a pension and retiree medical. Yes, we will soon take a huge hit but AA does not want to reduce the rate of pay. If AA had US's labor costs AA would have made billions in profits. AA was able to hold out for 5 years before filing. US came close to liquidating and the only they didn't was because you agreed to work for nothing, thanks for lowering the bar and then having the nerve to rub AA's bankruptcy in the face of it's employees. Most US employees yearn for a merger because they know that their route system and widebody deficient fleet are crap and want to parasitically attach themselves to another airline with a substantail international presence and widebody rich fleet in order to "fix" their putrid careers at the expense of another airlines' employee group. Many US employees have even acknowledged on these boards that US can't afford to give a better contract because of it's limitations but have stated that a merger with AA will allow the combined entity to give them substantial increases basically admitting they would be parasites. Sorry but AA revenues are for nAAtives and nAAtives only. We don't want to give the fruits of our labor via OUR assets to US employees. TWA is one reason why AA is where it is now and combining AA with US would land the "new AA" in bankruptcy again.
It's useless to try to even respond to this . Whatever. Hope everything works out for you .

These AAss Holes don't know what the hell they are talking about. Don't waist the band width with them .They don't seem to get the fact that they are in the crap hole now. Not US,DL, or UA. AA is the bottom of the barrel .Yes we were there .I am not denying it at all. But now they are and they seem to think they are not .. It simply amazes me how much arrogance one can have for a company that could simply give a crap about them right now .

All I have to say is we WILL have the newest fleet.

Who WILL be making not just a profit but HUGE profits like UA and DL?

Who WAS in CH-11 TWICE? Three times if you count America West.

Who WILL have the best first class (starting with the 777-300er)?

B6 would be excellent for AA. It would bring AA back to the top in JFK in terms of slots (I say keep B6 as separete operations)

AA+AS would be very complimentary. (As would AA+B6)

DL+AA IS possible with significant divestiture where they overlap (JFK+LGA).

AA is, in fact, "in the crap hole"; with OVER $4 billion in cash; unlike US, who didn't have a pot to pee in or a window to throw it out of (twice). And it simply amazes me that you defend a company that has raped you twice, pays you regional wages (for years), and treats you like gargabe.

What airline reported a $904 million net loss for December in the first monthly operating report during its Chapter 11 bankruptcy?

Just 31 days, wow!

I am not defending anyone. I am simply stating fact . And your $4billion is diminishing each day your in bk. The fact of the matter is that US is still here and profitable despite what we had to go through to get where we are today. Now its your turn to go through it . And I have never been paid regional wages. And i actually get treated pretty well at my company .I love the people I work with and I enjoy going to work . Please just stop being so arrogant about the whole situation. You know ,I really hope things`work out for you guys over there .We went through it and we know how it was . It wasn't a great experience but at least we knew where we stood. It seems like some of you are in denial of whats going on with your company .

$725 million of that was NON-CASH aircraft write downs. There was also about $88 million in depreciation expenses, another NON-CASH item.

We pretty much know what is coming (term sheets) and are resigned to it; just as it has happened to you and all the other legacy employees. Very few of us are in denial. In fact, many of us had a feeling that AA would file before they actually did.

As of right now oil is selling at around $101/bbl. I'd imagine this thread would look a little different, and some might be singing a different tune, were it selling for $140/bbl or higher. When, how high, and for how long will the inevitable next fuel price spike be?

Just a thought.

Depends upon what the Republicrat War Mongering Political Parasite Class in DC decides to do with Iran.

It's going to be an very interesting year. There will either be mergers or possible liquidations. Good luck to us all.
