I`m amazed and heartend that we voted it down so convincingly. Now you "negotiators" GO back to the table and do you frigging job. These numbers should tell you all you need to know. Push the 2001 contract to them with cola and geo pay. Of course all retro to May 2008. GET IT DONE !!!!!!!

Well
I have been believing that the vote was a farce and I cast my no vote just in case. To see the ballots actually counted was a breath of fresh air.2001 and then some! For what was given up in this contract we should have at least gotten back to 01 and had a cola thrown in for the remaining contract.Glad to see the last remaing scope we have protected!

OK so we dodged a bullet and a hell of a one at that. So whats next? The union was told repeatedly not to send this T/A for a vote. Did they listen? NO! Now the TWU is doing damage control by telling the world in the press that our members have spoken out to the company that we did not like this T/A. DUHHHHH... We said that all along. Forget STRIKE. It won't happen so lets put that past us, PLEASE. Now what will the TWU do for an encore? This is the part that worries me. We need to think with clear heads. Another T/A package is in the works. You can bet that its not much better than what we just voted down. The company and TWU will fine tune it to try to buy more YES votes. But still it will not be of any ones liking. This is our opportunity to get more AMP cards signed and make a big push for better representation before we agree to any more T/A's by the TWU. So lets do it. I hope that the YES voters can finally see the light and realize how bad this T/A was. There was NO real money here. Just give backs. So lets all get together on the same page and move forward to the next step. Getting a good contract for all our members whether it be under the TWU or hopefully the AMP.

Totally agree with 1AA's statement :D ....

Get an AMP card and send it in !!
Go to http://ampnational.org/
then click on the link >> AMP authorization card
Then >> print out card
>> fill it out
>> send it out !!!
The time is now for a better tomorrow !!!

The vote result was a reaffirmation of my belief that the International is totally out of touch with its membership.

We gave our local President a petition with over 2200 signatures demanding the tentative be suspended yet the International seem focused on screwing over the membership with this lousy tentative.
We take cuts and lose benefits while they pat themselves on the back at give themselves pay and benefit increases that we are forced to pay for.

When will they ever listen to the membership? Or perhaps I should ask, Will they ever listen to the membership?

The media, the company and the International all act like we rejected a three year tentative, THIS WAS A 5 YEAR TENTATIVE, why were we not going to be retroed back to the end of the contract? To most of the public who see only the money part of the contract this "3 year" deal doesn't look that bad. The public is not being informed that it is not the money that is killing the tentative it is all the company wants to take from us after giving so much in 2003, at the pajama party and increasing our productivity with less and less headcount.

The one hand giveth trinkets while the other hand takes away items that will affect us for the rest of our careers.

The fact that the International was so insistent in not hearing our pain and in fact selling us this $hitty tentative tells me it is time for them to hit the road-

FILL OUT YOUR CARDS IT'S TIME TO SEND THE TWU PACKING!

Another point I wanted to mention, in 2003 Tech Services rejected the contract and had it forced on them because the other groups had accepted it. Now the shoes on the other foot and it looks like they have to accept the contract though the other groups have rejected it-what gives?

Not really sure what tech services does, but buying any part of this TWU-engineered give back contract shows one needn't be the brightest bulb in the box to accomplish their job.

I agree, there were four members of the Committee that have International Titles, Steve Lius, Steve Gilboy, Gordon Clark and Bob Zimmerman, they all voted YES to end debate and bring back the TA.

If I were in Tech Services I would demand a recount, AAA is notorious for screwing up vote counts, I dont know why anyone would use them. They screwed up the stores vote, expect a new figure out soon, they screwed up 2003 and they screwed up our Local elections. With Tech Services they probably inverted the count, they did that with us.

Word has it that MIA was a Yes vote can anyone confirm this??
I would be surprised but Todd was out there day and night trying to sell this POS TA to his members.

does anyone have the station break downs

any time frame for when we will meet with the nmb again or whats next

Tech services lost nothing in 2003 and they will now be over $40 per hour. they basically trouble shoot maint issues with pilots or so Im told.
