wow .... yesterday 60 k job cuts annouced , today another 11k .... more to follow in the next two weeks ..

i thought half a million jobs lost in one month was bad .... could we see a million jobs lost this month ?50k ?

If it is reprehensible for Wall Street and Corporate Exec's to get bonuses in the millions...wouldn't it be a sin under the Messiah to reap millions on Super Bowl ads?

Like......isn't this gouging in our dreaded time of peril? 😱

Maybe they need the cash to pay NBC execs their bonus?

When did NBC take our tax dollars from the TARP program? Isn't that that difference here?

And on that note, it would have been much smarter to place restrictions on such bonuses prior to giving the TARP dollars, rather than changing the rules mid-game. I guess our legislative branch couldn't foresee that I-Banks would give massive end-of-year payouts like they do every year. What a suprise.

Yes, Freedom. It becomes much more personal when the situation is no longer simply black type on a newspaper, but is an environment that is changing the lives of your friends and/or family.

You do realize that we don’t have much of a choice BUT to go left economically ?

You spout all this no bailout no going left no socialism B/S but I don’t hear you on here saying that we should do away with social security , or medicate or Medicare etc , because that’s the OPPOSITE of the left you talk about … that’s the RIGHT … now if you don’t want to go LEFT , then you must want to go RIGHT and that means balancing the budget …. Shrinking the military , getting rid of food stamps , unemployment ETC ….

But , if we get rid of social security millions of elderly people will be FUBAR , if we slash the military , our nation will be open to ATTACK …. If we get rid of food stamps and unemployment then people will starve and turn to crime …

You blame the president for taking actions that most rational people would have no CHOICE but to take in order to preserve our nation ..


FREEDOM can’t exist without ORDER otherwise you have anarchy …. I hear people say we should do nothing , but doing nothing will mean good bye us economy ….is that what you want ? Maybe cutting the food stamps and unemployment,people will get off their butt and find any job that provides cash and learn to get by on their own.Life isn't always fair you know.Some things are worth struggle like a roof and food.Tell me when was the last time you or any others in the past has actually struggled to survive?

How about making the SSI fund monies go into that account only and quit taking those deductions and using them to run the country?
Those monies should be solvent if you are going to have those welfare type give away programs.If you want some type of healthcare programs for all to have...try reducing costs that drive high premiums.I don't think you and I want Obama and his administration looking up our most private orifices. No way Jose.

no sorry none of what your suggesting is pragmatic ... we have to keep society fuctioning , by that i mean lights and water on and people feed ... we may have to go to extreams to ensure that continues to happen ...

as to your first point about letting everyone just EAT IT ... on one level i can feel you there ... but again pragmatically speaking , if we let all the banks and everyone else eat it , poof there is no more economy ...

either way our economy is doomed , but the more time we can buy the more of a chance we may have of switching to a new type of system/society ...

unemployment for febuary 8.3 percent ...

united states GDP fell ny 6.2 percent in the 4Q of 2008 .....

stock market enters 6,000 range


and people said unemployment wouldn't go above 9 %

revised GDP for 2008 4Q were released this week it was actualy negative 6.3 %

unemployment now stands at 8.6% ....

the stock market rallied for the last two weeks ... i think i will call it the crack baby rally because it was based off of nothing but hope ... no fundementals at ALL ...

The situation is bleak ,and is growing bleaker , my other efforts out side of this web board to inform the population are not meeting with as much success as i would like ... not by far , but i will keep trying ..

i expect unemployment to rise to 9% once march numbers are calulated ...

the goverment has propsed a toxic buy up plan costing anywhere from one trillion dollars to 500 billion ...

our T notes are not selling anymore , we are now printing funny money and will see inflation rise sooner or later .

Yes they are supsending the imporant parts of MARK TO MARKET ....

for those of you who don''t understand what that is , think of it like this ..... ... there are 10 houses on a street , 9 of them are selling at 50 thousand , you decide to sell your house for 200 thousand , but all the houses are the same ....

Does something seem , oh i don't know WRONG with that kind of valuation ? well there is , and now banks will be able to chose what THEY think a property that they own is worth , not what the current going selling rate in the market is ....ohhhh yeah , i can just see the lopsided effect on home prices ...

Changing the rules of mark to market is a sign of utter desperation , this is how you KNOW things are bad ... now most people will proably get sucked in by this and go "yay , good rule change " but those are the same people who proably ddi bussiness with ENRON !!!!

This is great , now we won't just have zombie banks , we will have like subermiane zombie banks , because now that the banks are valuing their own worth , we won't know just how bad it is until everything surfaces at once and we get broad sided with the toxic assets .. :down:

After heavy drinking and smoking today i and my econmic co theorist have come to the rock solid conclusion that the US goverment is either directly controling the media or at the very least infuencing the media to report what it want's it to report ..

For me this is all a bit shocking , in my lifetime i have never seen or thought that the US goverment could be affecting media reporting , i mean sure there are little things here and there like during the intital invasion of iraq , but we're talking influence on a much more profound level like proganda like during vietnam or WWII ....

i can understand why the goverment is doing what it's doing, but i'm just like WOW !!!!!!! i mean , WOW .....
