Come now UT , i thought you were one who understood the FACTS ...

This time i'm not just preaching doom and gloom because i'm a pessimist , but because the facts lend heavy support to my train of thought ... AIG , GM , meril linc , american express ... the list goes ON AND ON AND ON AND ON .. and each moth another muiltil billion dollar player gets added to the gravy train ..

the US debt level is now unsustainable , the goverment is simply going to keep printing money until one day our currency drops through the floor much the same way the krona did (the currency of iceland ) .. we are not going to pay our national debt , but default on it as a country ...

having a good sense of whats coming , it's a simple common sense thing i do warning people to max out their credit cards ... you need to read about when Russia's currency devalued ... many who lived through that time suggest to others who may be faced with such a fate to get what makes you happy today ...

in one weeks time i will go on a rampage through the internet spreading my message of that which you call doom and gloom , as i pillage from website to website my message will be the same , MAX OUT YOUR CREDIT CARDS NOW ...

As far as "jail time or litigation " i do not care ... because i am right about the future i have no fear of it ... let what happens happens .

and speaking of the future , the us economy will continue to worsen , this is not a case of positive thoughts lifting the economy UT ... As far as i'm concerned people ARE thinking positively , because their thinking this will simply be a recession and not the economy ended depression it's going to be ..

I do not see it your way. Even through adversity, the Human Spirit will survive.

You encourage the very thing you fear and hope will not occur. It is akin to someone prophesying that a deadly gun rampage will occur at your local walmart, and then you go an encourage people to buy weapons and bullets so that they may be a part of the rampage because you "know" you are right about it.

You can use your voice for far more productive activities. You are not a solution; you are part of the problem.

You seem to be all over the map. First you start with this message of doom. Then when Obama was elected you seemed to be rahter upbeat. Now it's back to doom an gloom.

And do you honestly belive that spreading this doom and gloom message is actually accomplish anything? Other than give you something to do in your spare time? If you do please get help.

Most of what's going on IS psychological. If people think times are tough and they need to hoard their money and not spend it that's exactly what will happen. It's a self fulfilling prophecy and vicious circle all wrapped up into one.

i've already come to the determination that with or without my help the us economy is going in the tank ... so i've decided that the best thing to do is give it a push ... When it comes down to it, i want what's coming to be quick and not drag out for years upon years prolonging the suffering of the people ...

Furthermore i've also decided that civil unrest is inevitable and that the only way to control it is to be at the heart of it ...

So yes , in a sense i'll be the guy with the loud speaker in walmart telling people to buy guns and bullets , and its my hope that having the loud speaker i'll be able to influence the behavior of the crowd to some extent .

As to your point 777fixer , in past normal recessions you might be right about having "hope" and all , but there is no hope with the current conditions for our economy to continue on ... a new form of economic order must be sought out and adapted . You will not be able to wish away this storm no matter how deeply you stick your head in the sand ...

Freedom,

The underlying problem, however, is the fact that most of your specific prophecies thus far have been completely wrong. Remember what you said about oil not dipping below $110? Remember what you said about a black monday after the government announced the conservatorship of fannie/freddie? Remember what you said about finishing 2008 with the DOW at or below the 7000 range?

It is difficult for anyone on these boards to lend any credence to your message because of your low "batting average." You may, however, find that certain individuals in the dark corners of the internet will find you credible and listen wholeheartedly to your message. I do not say this as encouragement for you to "spread" your message, as you know that I frequently disagree with you. Rather, I say this to encourage you to take your own advice: "to take a more guarded attitude toward economic matters."

We both know that this correction in the markets is going to be long and painfull. In your economic equation, however, I think you are discounting the will and strength of the American people. You call it "keeping your head in the sand." I call it not giving up... an American virtue.

Furthermore i've also decided that civil unrest is inevitable and that the only way to control it is to be at the heart of it ...

Are you that deluded to think you can control anything by being at the "heart" of it? Seriously, get help.

Most of us here are of the age where he either had parents or grandparents who lived through the depression. The fact is they laugh at people like you. That's because you have no idea what tough times are like. My grandfather had to drop out of high school because to help support the family. He spent the depression going to various work projects trying to find employment. In the early 40's things started to stabalize. Just when things were looking up the war starts and he gets drafted. His story is not unique, it happened to a lot of people. Has the same happened to you?

Here are some basic questions you should ask yourself. Do you still have a job? Do you still have a roof over your head? If the answer is yes then I would say you're not doing so bad.

Well, IMHO, therein lays the conundrum. The Web 2.0 generation believes that life ‘owes’ them a living. They have been spoiled and mollycoddled into believing they can achieve a good lifestyle with minimum effort and a decent credit score. And if they fail, Mom and Dad will take up the slack and have little Johnny and Susie move back into the house.

The problem is, they find that Mom and Dad mortgaged their ‘own’ future for little Johnny and Susie. Now Mom and Dad are out of work, lost their investments through this economic recession and can no longer send Johnny and Susie stipends to cover their iPod service.

Little Johnny and Susie are pissed!

Too Bad, Sooo Sad...

tisk tisk ... your all getting ahead of the times .... while there is no civil unrest at this point and time there WILL be in the future ....

This goes far beyond what people feel they are "entitled too " this deals with the very social contract it's self .... When you tell millions of people who are ready and WILLING to work that there's no place for them in this society , no jobs , and no money .... you will see a revolt in the street .... people will begin to look around and say to themselves , why am i living out here in the street while that rich SOB who inherited most of his wealth is sitting in his mansion drinking champagne while i starve to death ?

we are by NO means into the depression , this is only the start , it appears this will be a far slower decline than in the 1930's ... but if i am familial with my 1930's history we are in a worse spot than that time period because our government is far more leveraged than it was during that period ... not to mention the citizens along with it ...

On this the last day of the year , let me make clear that there will be no recovery next year .... As more jobs are shed due to the poor Christmas season we will see more people absconding from their debts and crime will also begin to rise as desperation becomes widespread ...

As for state governments , they are still planing their budgets for a severe recession and not a depression , this will compound matters making things far more painful ....i also predict alot of state level political paralysis as local leaders will become unwilling to make the necessary budget cuts because they will come at too high a political cost ... we are already seeing this in California ...

I don't want to wonder , but i find i must ... will next year be the time when the us dollar nose dives ? will we begin to see hyper inflation next year ? i think alot of that question is wrapped up in just how much damage the us economy can sustain before foreign investors become spooked and flee ...

feel free to share your economic predictions for next year ..
