half a million jobs lost in the month of November , the unemployment rate now stands at 6.7 percent .... the fear in our society is palatable , i can taste it , i can see it , i can hear it ..


There's not much i can tell you today doom journal ... i'm sorry to see our way of life coming to an end ..i am however more and more committed to bringing about a new and greater tomorrow for our people ... just like humanity transitioned out of the dark ages , so shall we transition to a new era ...

however it is far from time to act yet ... for now , i'll continue to watch rome burn ...

Ah doom journal ... my heart is sinking .... the drum beat into financial destruction continues ... you know doom journal ... i'm some what apprehensive about going outside after night fall ... i can FEEL the desperation out there ... it looks like the auto bail out will pass in some form or another , i expected nothing less ... after voting down the first bail out package and seeing the results , i doubt there are many left in congress who would risk something like that again ..the economic news remains bleak , as of course it always will ... this is going to be the worst Christmas for sales in all of history .. Everything is falling apart .....

but i'll be there to pick up the pieces .. i swear it ...

I just checked CNN , the headlines were that the auto bail out bill was dead ... it said story to follow later ...


we will see , we will see ... i'm going to bed soon , when i wake up tomorrow it may be an entirely different world ...

this may set off another chain reaction the likes of lehman brothers ... yes i know the auto industry was going to be doomed irregardless of what ever went down ... but damn , this is like someone putting their foot on the accelerator ....

bank of american announced 35 thousand job cuts , dupot is laying off a few thousand along with 3m and AT&T ... geez pretty soon the news is going to be about who's NOT laying anyone off ... even walking down the aisles in the market i hear talk of job cuts ...

When i drive down the city streets in Arizona i look at the commercial scene and there are more and more empty stores ... the commercial real estate shoe is now dropping ...

geez , it's raining shoes ...

I saw a piece on these foreclosures and how they're helping people....sad thing was they claimed most of the people they help were in problems again a mere six months later.
Both nationally and personally and I guess globally too,it's boiled down to a lack of financial discipline.

Well looks like the government is going to pull out all the stops .. today we had a .75% rate cut ... shazzam!!!! i was pretty shocked when i saw it on tv too .. althou we shouldn't be surprised ...

consumer confidence has hit a NEW new low ... well what do they expect ? and now the tv pundits and many folk are saying that we're creating our own problem with being "down " and depressed" and that's why consumer confidence is spiraling ...

yeah i guess having trillions of dollars in federal debt and more and more mountains of federal and state debt is something we should all just shrug off and forget about as being a "downer" ....

Hell if the government want's to send me party money ill go out and get wasted and forget about it ....

It's Christmas eve 2008 , the weather outside is cool but not cold ... rain is predicated for tomorrow ....

This year the spirit does not move me ... the knowledge of what's coming haunts me in all my dreams .. i cannot hide from reality in Christmas carols or TV shows ... at times i feel empowered , ready to fight .. and then as quickly as the energy to make a difference fills me , it fades from me ....

i am torn , torn by so many different ideas , issues and feelings ... yet i am calm ...

Let us remember tonight those of our people who are suffering , those who are exposed to the harshness of the elements , those who are now completely overcome by despair , those who will go to bed hungry tonight and wake up empty tomorrow ... those who have recently lost their jobs ... let us pray for them .

Do you ever sit back and actually read what you write? I not a fan of the US government or policy so that is not it. You write as if you are talking to an imaginary friend. You are scary and not as in doom and gloom scary but Jeffry Dahmer/Charles Manson scary.

That's some corny stupid stuff right there. If you want to be taken seriously you need to present your material in a way that does not make people think you are nuts. well the reason i write dear doom journal as if i'm talking to myself is that it's my attempt at mockery of our greater society ..... to think what i think , to actually wrap your mind around the thought of economic collapse within the US , well it leaves you feeling a little nutty .... there are some on here who think as i think , but there are not many .. i'm in the small minority here ...

you should know that i predicted dire econmic times from as far back as a year and a half ago when my work group was fighting for a new contract .. of course while i said there would be lines of workers streaching around the block to take our jobs , it never occurred to me that we would lose all our jobs because the aviation industry is non essential .. at least to the degree that would allow those of us from us airways to keep our jobs ...

ah well , what can i say ....except for this

Dude, You might want to do a self check. You are worse than some of the evangelicals with your exuberant predictions of the apocalypse. Doom & Gloom has been predicted for ‘ages’ and rears it’s ugly head at ‘every’ catastrophe. We ‘survived’ the nuclear holocaust predictions as was envisioned during the cold war, Y2K was a joke even though people were hoarding fuel, food and generators (maybe they will use them now… ). The S&L debacle sent people back in their shelters for ‘awhile’ (soon forgotten). The 911 attack was perceived as a precursor for the ‘End of Days’ as well.

To encourage people to max out their credit to knowingly default is reprehensible if not criminal.
(You do know your IP is tracked and in litigation, your big mouth will have to pay the piper?)

One of the major factors for recovery (of any kind) is ‘Hope’ and a sense of the future being better. When one (or a society) falls into hopelessness, then all bets are off. Hopelessness will breed hopelessness and fear will cause fear. There are enough ‘hopeless fear mongers’ in the world (you just being one).

Hope for the best but prepare for the worst!
