All of the arguing and name calling and fighting seems to be the end of any kind of "solidarity" among the union members.

I must disagree. The auguring is, in a strange way to some, a method of showing that we are ready to stand up and fight for our organizations.

It's a way of showing that we will be "getting involved" in the merger of all groups, no matter which organization is the representative. We will stay involved as we move forward.

Only time will tell which group will be the representative of the different groups.

Just something to think about. Get involved and stay involved in the way that is best for you, but stay involved. :)

Exellent post!

"Solidarity" In my opinion was lost when our "Brothers" sold our Station along with 20+ others down the friggen river. Solidarity doesn't mean permitting the company outsource all of the Class 2 stations, as long as nothing happens in your backyard. We all paid dues just as they did to the same organization, but they threw us under the Bus in as fast as they could.

"396",
If EVER there was a "single" issue to dump the IAM, for the IBT, it was the IAM's LACK of Intestinal Fortitude in NOT telling the company that they MUST let the class 2 station union people, "bump the system" !!

That BLUNDER, was unforgivable and CRIMINAL !!

NH/BB's

ps,
Those **** SUCKERS are getting ready to do the same thing to the NW people in the smaller stations !!

I couldn't agree with you more, but it is a bit late for those who have already lost thier jobs as a result. If the IBT could do anything to reverse the damage, and get us back to work it would be great. I doubt that there is any hope of this taking place even if the IAM stays on the property. We are already looking at returning to work for the starting rate of pay since we have been furloughed over 60 days.

They could have bumped in the system, but their bumping is differant then the mechanic and related contract.

And the IBT does not represent the ramp at HP, that would be the TWU.
