AFL-CIO,TWU supported DEMOCRATS in congress passed NAFTA! AFL-CIO,TWU supported DEMOCRATIC president(CLINTON) signed NAFTA into law! AFL-CIO and the TWU didn't stop NAFTA and caused 700,000+ U.S. jobs to be lost!

Nice try Princess, but ya really need to stay with massages, try yelling "Next up!"

I believe NAFTA was originally George Bush #41 ideal. Although you are correct about Clinton signing it in. However, if you are trying to say that Republican's are more labor friendly you must be kidding. Go ask some steel workers about that. Not to mention George Bush #43 interferance in NWA/AMFA negotiations.

Have a nice day.

Neither of them of them are on the workers side. The democrats have screwed the working man ALMOST as much a the republicans. Remember Slick Willey stopping the pilots strike????THEY BOTH SUCK!!!!!

The twu sucks the most!!!!!!!!

Beter yet Hackie ma boy..we all suck..! We let the unions down with PATCO! We should have all walked but did not!

When you say "WE" do you mean the mighty afl-cio with their political muscle?

Kenny mah boy...I mean all of us. We all let the union man down. And now we pay. If you want to make some AMFA-TWU stance out of that go ahead, we're used to you.

A newbie! 13 posts! Every one of them the ignorance of an Agitator. The TWU is done this time and I'm done wasting my time with you. LOL

I see..agitator= holder of the facts.

Here's some more ....

Can you imagine working for a company that has a
little more than 500 employees and has the following statistics:

* 29 have been accused of spousal abuse
* 7 have been arrested for fraud
* 19 have been accused of writing bad checks
* 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
* 3 have done time for assault
* 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
* 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
* 8 have been arrested for shoplifting
* 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
* 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year...

Can you guess which organization this is?
Give up yet?

It's the 535 members of the United States Congress.

The same group of idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year
designed to keep the rest of us in line.

Thats the first sensible thing that you have said.

The sad truth is that the reason why the unions did nothing then is the same reason why these same unions do nothing now.

They have become business unions. None of them are willing to use their treasuries to fight for us. The Sonny Halls of this world are very confortable in their corner offices on Broadway, unless of course an unimpressed member is sitting in there.

I've been a member of this union for over 17 years. All you ever get is excuses. Its the governments fault, its the economy, its the company, its the members, yet not once has there ever been a call to action despite over 20 years of concessions. How could it be the members fault when they say "buy it, its the best you are going to get" then when it becomes obvious that we should have done better instead of admitting that they screwed up, they blame the members for accepting it. During PATCO labor leaders had lots of excuses too. Today we recognize it for what it was.

The fact is that despite the AFL-CIO not only is every union really on its own, but so are most of the members. Most unions are run by people like Sonny Hall. Their primary objective is to retain personal power. They have no plan to make things better for us, and they are quite content with the status quo. Why wouldnt they be? Six figure salaries and benifits that the rank and file could only dream of. Unions like the TWU/ATD are no longer the means to better improved lives for the rank and file but rather an escape for the elite few.

The leaders back in 1981 were not much different than those of today, if anything we are worse off today. They too enjoyed their positions of staus and lofty compensation. They too were reluctant to do anything that could alter the status quo. Twenty years from now it will be just as clear how todays leaders have completely failed us.

The TEAMSTERS endorsed GEORGE BUSH Senior for president during the 1988 election. They were the largest union in the country and their political contributions got BUSH in office and beginnings of NAFTA started! The TEAMSTERS had also just rejoined the AFL-CIO(I believe.Someone correct me if I'm wrong). Just goes to show it doesn't matter whether you vote REP. or DEMO. ,big business is going to get what it wants until the unions quit trying to bribe the politicians and use their funds to organize massive strikes and work stoppages to stop the B.S. that is going on in this country. The unions long ago went to battle against corporate America. Some people got hurt or got killed fighting corporate greed. It maybe necessary to go into battle again!
