Twinkees Dead, Union Charged with Ho-Homicide..

I dont think you have all the facts at all. Your family must be susceptible to propaganda! Now maybe a new mechanic made the same as a twenty yr ramper but that is not quite the same.

Morale at eal was bad, people chose other airlines. They lost money. I was the only passenger on an eal flight to atl. The aft galley flight attendant gave me a sandwich while we were sitting at the gate. It was a left over. The f/c fa came to the back and snatched out of my hand! They got into a fist fight. I had to get the captain to break it up. I got to keep that sandwich though.

Unions had there place and time and "WERE" needed ,if anything, for working conditions alone !

Another myth you've been conditioned to believe. Don't think those "working conditions" laws can change lightning fast? Look around, and see how fast some of the recent changes in WI, MI, and elsewhere came. No counterbalance means even less resistance.

I've taken pay-cuts in the past and you never know, might in the future, the way this country is headed, but sometimes, maybe it better to bite the bullet, than it is to bite the hand that feeds you !

Translation: "I'm just lucky to have a job!"

And btw, someone tell me what a "Living Wage" is

Here. Have fun.

Knew you would jump into the fray, if the words ramp and union were mentioned Kev.
Want to know what your living wage chart tells me Kev ? If you and I do the same exact job , you have 0 kids and I have 9, I should make more..............thanks for the link !

The chart points out that one would need to make more (obviously), not that the same person doing the same job with 9 kids "should" make more.

It is not surprising that "the" chart (not Kev's) "tells" you something completely different than anyone else with the ability to think critically.

hah! thanks for the hardy laugh! You remind me daily why education is important.

OK let's try this. I believe you work in Minneapolis, correct Kev ? Do you make at least $9.69 and hour ?

Well the new union mantra "We want a living wage" says otherwise! If 2 people do the same job, at the same place and their union has gotten them a "Living Wage" contract, the person with 3 kids would have to be paid more than the person with no kids, in order to uphold said "Living Wage" contract based on the link provided by Kevin!

And if Kevin is single, works in Minneapolis and makes $9.69 or more an hour, he is receiving a living wage already...................based on "His" link !

Your power of deduction leaves me speechless.

While no one on the Left will define "Living Wage" in dollar terms I think it's important to note that even the most "Austrian" of the Austrian School Economists recognize the need for what they refer to as a minimum income. This is more abstract then a Federal Government defined Minimum Wage which is arbitrary and can be as harmful as it is helpful..

What the Austrians speak about is an income that is large enough to support the bottom rung of the economic ladder. If those dollars aren't enough then the economy as a whole suffers. The challenge in all of this is for government to do nothing and allow the free market to seek it's own level free from attempts to manage it.

GM, Chrysler, the banks should have been allowed to fail. The economic balance shets wiped clean and we immediately start to grow again Iceland did essentially did the above and they have come out of near economic collapse. The Banksters are in jail and they're growing again.
