Turkey Dinners- Thanks A lot

The company has always feeded us on Thankgiving and XMAS. At least at HP. I don't see the big deal??

We've been doing a big Thanksgiving dinner for about the past 15 years. We started about 10-12 years ago inviting the flight crews to eat with us. Somewhere along the line we went from just the employees bringing in food to having the employee fund buy the big stuff and the employees bring in a dish to share. It has been nice the past two years to have the company pay for the main food and the employees still bring in something. We've been able to use the employee fund now on other things that we need and that the company cant provide. The original spirit of the meal has survived in TPA with everyone invited, including the crews. Only difference now is that the company has taken over the funding of the main part of the meal.

its nice to be thankful im sure Doug gives thanks for his 13 million he got this year, 21 million he got last year......but we should be thanking him for turkey? do me a favor give the turkey to needy family as a tax write off and give me and the rest of the employees a raise, and change this disgusting reserve system
ok now what is a kool-aid drinker?

tad, great post! The TPA "family" are a shining example of how a group of co-workers come together during the holidays and make all feel welcome and appreciated. I think the company should send you folks on "TDY" training missions to show other stations how it's done! One of the points about these holiday dinners that a lot of our employees don't get, is this; most of us do have to work on Thanksgiving, some of us even choose to come in before or after our own family gatherings to be with our "Work" families. If the powers that be in Tempe want to provide us with some of the food for our holiday, that's GREAT!!!! I'll take it, it just makes our celebration better. I, like most employees of US, spend more time at work than with my own family. That is the reality of our Industry. I enjoy the fact that on a few Holidays throughout the year, we are able to sit down at work and break bread with our co-workers and reflect on our situation and whatever blessings we still have. tad, some of the most my most memorable T-day dinners were spent in the TPA CSV breakroom eating Turkey with Agents, Rampers, Mechanics, F/A's, Pilots, Skycaps, and yes, even Managers. I salute you guys and thank you for the great memories. That is the true spirit of the Holidays!
