What's new

Tulsa base lease extended?

What, exactly, is kinda scary about it?

Here's the order that D R Stewart of the Tulsa paper mis-described:

AA and the lessors are still negotiating, and agreed to extend the deadlines to reach agreements on new terms. Yawn.

They extended the MCI lease to 25 years if I remember correctly and look what happened there.

I believe they only pay a dollar a year for the tulsa base so is this really an issue

I'm sure MCI had a plating shop at one time - not sure what happened to it.

TULE has one, however, and the EPA doesn't think kindly re: issuing new permits to operate them, or so I'm told. Again, it's probably only a matter of time 'til a foreign plate shop is opened and that will take the landing gear work with it.

I was told the dollar a year was a rumor that it is actually $120,000 +/-

Ok even so at 120k thats still pretty much free for the size and scope of this operation

There is quite a number of engine parts that are ran through there as well, with any luck someones idea light will come on and we start running total 145 compliant instead of 121 get an ISO cert. and start insourcing third party engines, landing gear and everything else we can do well.

That would make sense so you know darn well AA wont do
