True Intentions

Then why are you here? I cannot even begin to imagine the attitude you inflict on your fellow coworkers. If you work for "liars, thieves, and people who are out to get you", then why are you here? If I thought that of my employer and spent the greater part of my life being angry at everyone who is not as miserable as I am and tried to convince people reading this forum to think like I do, I would take a long hard look at my life and do something about it. Counseling, antidepressants, a new job-if I were so far gone so as to post the things you do, I would hope my friends would have an intervention for me and get me the help I needed. There needs to be a safety mechanism on this website when it seems that someone is at the precipice.

These few words say a ton! Hula Girl is right on. She PMed me in the past for saying I was too harsh and I jumped on her. I was wrong and she was right, this is my public apology.

Step back and look at what has become of a lot of the U employees as these words show. 700UW is caught up in the fray and it shows thru in his posts, and did mine as well for a time. Yep, the U employees sure took more than their fair share, no doubt. The sad thing is, it's turning too many into something ugly. The Us and Them attitude will cause this company to go away unless some major changes for the good happen and fast . Things will never be the same, and that is if there is even a “thing leftâ€￾ to begin with.

I'm not being facetious with this question but would really like some insight for some possible hope.

What good do you expect to come of these changes except maybe some employees being spared from the chopping block.

Ever since the first round of concessions, very few employees have been happy or found any good in what has happened since then. Round two made it even worse. Everything has really gone down hill since then. No good came from the first two rounds of concession.

Do you really think that after this bankruptcy, forced pay and benefit cuts, more stringent work rules with more to come, that any employee will ever be happy again, love their job, management and US as a whole? Will they once again love going to work and be thankful of all the good that will come from these major changes? Will the workforce be content and feel secure once again?

Honestly now, why do you think this time will be different even though the cuts are much deeper and permanent! Please give us some insight and hope.

"IF" I had these answers I guess I would have 5 million dollars in my pocket like our man Dave, who just "said" he had the answers.

I don't have a clue and why I am not in a position to say, but at least I'll admit as much.

My point is this: With people at each others throats on these boards and if this is indicative of the entire U work force, then there is zero hope. No harmony, no company .

I worked at a small place years ago and the supervisor was a former boss at a major unionized steel mill. He gave us all kind of latitude, it was a great place to work, to be. He told us that the one thing he would not put up with was, dissension. He told us that anyone who he felt was starting to fuel dissension would be fired without question. He felt that a work force in disarray and having no harmony would equal total failure. This is what I see at U. I don't give one whit "WHOSE" fault that reality is, doesn't matter. Unless that problem is somehow solved, U is doomed even if Bill Gates donates 10 billion dollars. No I don't have the answer to solve it. I am just an observer and can see it.

Thanks for being honest.

After all that has gone on over the years between labor and management, what can one think but, that the dissention will never diminish.

I think that is why so many employees feel that shutting the place down would be the best thing because it just seems that things getting any better is an impossibility. With what has transpired over the years between employees and management, can everyone ever work in harmony once again? The light at the end of the tunnel is so very far away at this point and it's hard for most to even think about going through that long long tunnel to "only maybe" get to the light at the end. There may not be one so, why take the long, arduous, painful trip?

For the love of god 700.....will you just spare us already. Your a record played over and over again. We get your point! You dont like management. You have posted 3100 messages on here in under a year, thats like 10 posts a day. Every one has been negative. Its just getting really old. Yeah, ill say it again, go do something else if your that unhappy. Saying that youll "fight the good fight" is just so laughable!

From a total outsider (don't work for US in anyway), but one who works in, actively follows, and is genuinely concerned about the industry, I have to say that it is difficult to see, hear, and read many of the things surrounding the issues at USAirways. I am a loyal US customer, even though there are many other options to the places I fly most often, so I actually care about this airline. I also work in a part of the industry that depends on the success of airlines in general, so I pains me to see what this dillema is doing to everyone. From the days of Frank Lorenzo and Eastern/Continental to Pan Am to TWA, there have been great companies that weren't able to finish the race. The ONLY way that USAirways won't join the ranks of the fallen greats is to somehow, someway, find a way to put the union/management finger pointing away long enough to get together on a certain level. Don't take the easy way and lash out over evey little thing you hear. Remember that there are people who care about you and your company as a whole and wish nothing but better times. No one WANTS to see thousands lose thier jobs. Don't get so intimidated by the situation, make the best of it no matter how difficult. Mistakes have been made, promises have been broken, don't become the next Eastern...
