All:
Please note this post and compare it with the actual outcome a few months or less from now.
The East pilots will do what they have always done.
Huff and puff; threaten and cajole; pound their chest; but in the end, they will go back to just going along with it, and looking out for themselves at the expense of any unified effort.
Jerry Glass will come up with the right amount of carrots and sweeteners to get enough East pilots to join the 517, and the check airmen, and the management pilots to eventually get a 51% "Yes" vote on a joint concessionary contract.
And any outrage will be superceded by the long-prevalent "It's All About Me" attitude that got them here in the first place. In fact, it's already happening.
The screen in the scheduling computer that shows how many pilots are on the bid sheet looking to pick up trips should be blank -- for every base, for every position, every day.
It isn't.
Look on those screens any day, and you'll see dozens of pilots trying to pick up more trips.
That's really sending 'em a message.
