The TWU Conssesions History

Simple. Join the Teamsters

LOL the reamsters right!! I had a reamster truck driver come to my house a couple of summers ago when the Ibt was trying like hell to organize FX. Nice enough guy but again here is a truck driver trying to tell me an AMT how the Ibt can benefit me. Typical catch all union. This guy does not have a clue what my needs are as an AMT or what we want. I told him I wasn't interested and asked why did Jimmy Hoffa fly on NWA when I was on strike there in 2005? He pretty quickly figured out it was a losing battle coming to my house. Just ask the majority of UAL guys who left AMFA for Ibt how they are feeling right now. They are going full circle wanting to either go back to AMFA or the Iam. Speaks volumes to me about the Ibt they seem like the worst of the bunch.

Dude, I'm an AMT and have been for 28 years. I have no idea what your needs are at FX. Jimmy on NWA is all you have to base your opinions on? Shallow.

You all are so determined to dodge the real issues regarding amfa.

In November 2004, AMFA and UAL commenced concessionary bargaining. According to AMFA Administrator Kevin McCormick, "AMFA accepted as accurate the significant economic components (including, for instance, overtime factors and fringe benefit calculations) used by UAL's labor cost projection/model for purposes of obtaining concessions from each of the affected labor unions." The other unions challenged and made corrections to these numbers, McCormick did not. He accepted the numbers given to him by the company as face value, and amfa did what McCormick suggested.

As the appointed National Administrator, McCormick was directly involved in all amfa contracts and had the last word on financial matters involving contract negotiations....or extensions.

More about McCormick can be found on these sites.

And you and the other industrial union apologists ignore a basic truth:

No airline mechanics' union has demonstrated real success in preventing outsourcing and consequent job losses. Not the IAM, not the IBT, not the TWU and not AMFA. It's not the outsourcing and job losses that will motivate the AA mechanics to finally rid themselves of the worthless union, it's the fact that the TWU's appointed leadership lives like AA management with high salaries, benefits and substantial raises despite a long history of concessions by the AA maintenance staff. That will finally cause the AA AMTs to fire the worthless union. The sooner the better.

Those free-riders at B6 and DL make more money than the dues-paying AA AMTs. If you can't deliver results (pay and benefits that at least equal the nonunion AMTs at competitors), then for what are AA's mechanics paying that two hours per month? T-shirts and hats? Unwanted new union halls? Cookouts? Scholarships named for a famous communist labor organizer? It's sure not for a responsive union that improves the life of the rank and file.
