Are you saying that this sort of behavior would be acceptable if she was flying on a refundable fare? No? In not that then why bring it up?

Thank you for your thoughtful response. I agree that in this case it probably could have been done. It is part of a letter sent to the powers that be regarding last Saturday's fiasco. I actually finished the letter in the DCA club, but would have much rather been on the way home to tuck my kid in...

Also, I don't check bags..only as a last resort on a long or international trip.
