The Company That Couldn't Shoot Straight

Good e-line. I think that when the dust settles for the migration it will be better system overall. Think of this:

West never had Sabre, East never had Shares (QUIK). Now that east has worked with this, they are working as a team to create a much better version of Shares, using what they had from SABRE and applying it to SHARES. In the end, it will be an awesome system, but this had to happen to put all of the heads together. Thats my take on this.
Flight Attendants deciding that the agents reservation system is going to be great and will be fix to their standard. You better stick to what AFA said.

I agree 100% desertfa66. East went through the SAME thing when we went from PACER/ARTS to SABRE. The crying continued until SABRE was replaced with SHARES, now the crying is to bring back the system that replaced the beloved PACER....go figure
And your training is to ask the agents when it comes to any reservations question. Your knowledge of the reservation system is that of a Flight Attendant.

Sorry jj, but I work with SHARES, I'm not a f/a.

May I ask what department you are in? Crew Scheduling maybe?

Bring back sabre, bring back sabre.

I tried to understand it wouldn't come back, "reality"? Now i am convinced that if it doesn't come back, the company will collapse and close shop.

The only option is to bring back sabre !

hula boy and desert storm, you are very sad "pollyanna's" ! Start your own private thread, no one is interested in your "anti union/customer opinions"!

All of which give me an idea. Perhaps the company should change its name to TWA which would be "Third World Airways". Or Trailerpark In The Sky Airways

Go ahead and enjoy your ranting, but please don't stomp on the grave of TWA while you are at it. Even at our worst we were never anywhere near as bad as the USAirways of the past few months!!!

I don't think he was refering to the OLD TWA. It's just the letters that was used the way US is running things.

Things that were(NT), and never will be....

QIK/Shares as an adequate system for our current airline. We're getting flights out still, but it isnt pretty. Things could be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better.
And add another one to the list of guests welcome to come work with me a week and see what we're talking about.
Dam*, with all the "helpers" here, we'd also be adequately staffed for once.

Our orders are push them on the plane, pull the jetway and then figure out who is on board. FAA listening to this one?

Just got used to new airline name. I guess we will have to make it BBS, B R I N G

B A C K

S A B R E

BBS-ALSO MEANS BETTER BE SOON!

Yeah. TWA was a great airline and treated me well. What sad ending to an icon. Shame on AA but, we won't rehash that. And don't think for one minute folks that what happened at TWA can not happen here. Forget flying monkeys and wicked witches, I have nightmares that AA will buy us. Oh the fun they would have stapeling another group to the bottom of the list only to furlough them forever.

You should see my pay check. Thanks to all this BS I'm getting paid for trips I haven't flown since I'm going illegal through no fault of my own (east contract only). And the last day trip went from 7+55 to 9+55 flight time same duty time. Throw the PAX's on and let us push. Once were under our own power its flight pay baby.

You hit the nail on the head Beachboy, it certainly CAN happen here, and it seems as if management has forgotten the lessons of Braniff, Pan Am, Eastern, and TWA.

These companies were run into the ground by poor management, not the hard working line employees. How hard is it to realize that you need to empower your staff and give them the tools they need to do thier jobs properly to succeed and prosper? This starts by the way with a fair contract for all work groups, not dragging out negotiations for years on end.

Also, how many successful companies out there rush out and make decisions on things without input from the "experts" in those departments?

If I didn't count on this place for a paycheck, it would almost be comical.

Go back to the desert and bring shares with you !

Bring back sabre, bring back sabre.

Lets get a united front on this and stop babbling day after day. Now is time to take action !
Sure, and do another  migration??? That makes TOTAL sense
