Angels were getting crank back in the 70's from truckers traveling across the country.
It became a big profit item for them and gave rise to the biker stereotype of dope dealing and ass kicking. Where the truckers got it, I couldn't tell you. I do know later on the mob had labs...Philly for one in the 80's so it wouldn't be too far off time wise.
 
I burned my nose out in the early 70's.
 

Nope.  I was 17 when I graduated from high school in 1975.   But there are guys who DID get drafted and who DID go who think the Nuge is freaking hypocrite.  I mean....from what I read, today Nuge enjoys shooting from helicopters...the Army had a place where he could have learned the joys of shooting from a helicopter every day.  But he #### himself to avoid that.  They had guns and ammo they were willing to GIVE him.  But he #### himself.  There were teenage Vietnamese cuties that he could have screwed on slow days.  But he #### himself.  Nam would have been "Nuge nirvana"...but the coward wouldn't go.   DAmn I wish I could teach a wild boar how to shoot...next time Nuge flies over "on the hunt" in Huey, let them shoot back.

Indeed they were.  Doesn't mean I can't respect the guys in the 60's who didn't #### themselves to get out of going to Vietnam.   You're funny.....you say I'm a coward because if there were a draft for the Iraq war, I would have sent my kid to Canada, but gosh....the 60's were different and it was a "clever" way to avoid the draft.  Nuge should put his #### flag down and stop playing patriot.  Men died for his right to own an AK.  Men died for his right to tell the president of the United States to "suck on this".  And back in the 60's, we still naively believed (well most of us believed) that the war in Vietnam was to protect our freedoms.  When Nuge was called to defend these freedoms, he #### himself.  Today he tries to portray himself as some uber patriot...waving guns all over the place and shouting "freedom".  He wasn't willing to fight for his freedoms.  He left that to someone else.  IMHO, there is little difference between him and Jane Fonda

Where was your head at between 65 and 75?  Well, at 8 years old, I was really into Batman on TV and wasn't paying much attention to the war.  At 17, the war and the draft had ended.   As I understand it, by 75 Nuge had discovered how FUN it was to shoot things with a gun....lately he's learned how fun it is to shoot a machine gun from a helicopter.  He calls it "hunting".  He could have experienced all that fun back in the 60's...well, except that the pigs shot BACK at the helicopter.

So i'd have to take an educated guess that a father who would agree with his son deserting due to an unpopular war would most likely shiit his pants if he was drafted during the Nam conflict and run for the hills much like Ted.......

In the big picture, you and your angry liberal brethren have a lot more to worry about with Benganzi, Obamacare, the IRS scandal, a faltering ecomomy, 17 trillion in debt, and other glaring issues with the current failed Obama Non-adminstration that what a patriotic hard rocker has to say on a stage and not in offical office. 
 
Ted has done more for the troops today than Commie Jane has ever done or will do, she is hated by more vets by far, and back-stabbed her generation. Ted hunts wild feral pigs from a helicopter, and the ranchers in Texas I'm sure thank him for doing so. This shouldn't surprise you.  The GOP painted "top gun" GWB, whose daddy pulled a few strings to get him into a National Guard unit that had a snowballs chance in hell of going to a foreign war zone as some war hero, while painting John Kerry as some fraud.   Despite what the swiftboaters might say, Kerry knows what a gun sounds like when it's being fired in your direction.  Bush doesn't (unless maybe he quail hunted with Cheney).  Then look at the GOP in Georgia...another draft derfement king (Saxby Chamblis) claiming that his opponent (Max Cleland) wasn't tough enough on issues of war.  Nevermind that Cleland lost 3 limbs in battle over in Vietnam.   So the old Motor City Madman fits right in - just hold up a gun and yell 'freedom' while telling the president of the United States to "suck on this".     They can overlook a little poop in ones pants...
