Looks like TAESL had a nice little Christmas party. Where did all the nice gifts come from?

I din't attend but was told that some of the giveaways were suit cases. Nice Touch.

That`s not cool. The pictures I saw were of 4K televisions, a Roomba and Microsoft Surface computers. Pretty nice party I`d say. No such send off when we were Riffed from the hangar. I`m curious where such nice gifts came from. I`d assume they were from Rolls Royce.

Any truth to the December 15th Letter concerning a Stand and Stead for OSM's in TULE and DWH?

This is a cut and paste directly from JetNet.

As part of the follow-up steps from the reduction in force tied to the closure of Texas Aero Engine Services LLC (TAESL), several locations across the system will now have more employees than we need. In almost all of those locations, the overage is manageable and the company has committed to continue to employ everyone.
There are, however, two exceptions: the AMTO/OSM (AMT Overhaul Support Mechanic/Overhaul Support Mechanic) classifications at DWH and Tulsa. TULE now has a surplus of 74 AMTO/OSM employees and DWH has a surplus of 30 AMTO/OSM employees. Under normal circumstances, the next step in the process would be to issue reduction in force notices to those employees displaced. However in the interest of mitigating the number of involuntary reductions, the company is offering an Enhanced Stand-in-Stead (SIS) to AMTO/OSM employees at both TULE and DWH to allow those who want to voluntarily leave the company to do so.
Eligible employees will have the opportunity to separate from the company and receive their regular severance plus an additional $22,500. All in, it will likely be around $35,000 to $40,000 per employee. To be eligible for the Stand-in-Stead, an employee must:
• Currently be in the AMTO or OSM classification covered by the TWU Mechanic & Related collective bargaining agreement at DWH or TULE;
• Have been on active payroll or an approved Leave of Absence at DWH or TULE as of January 31, 2016; and
• Have at least 15 years of company seniority as of January 31, 2016.
In addition, employees at DWH in the OSM classification have the opportunity to exercise their rights to displace more junior AMTO/OSM employees at TULE. The Stand-in-Stead window will open December 16, 2015 and close January 4, 2016.

Seniority lists are accessible on jetnet from inside or outside a company computer in the Resources tab. The RIF lists are not and the Locals have copies.

By the time the seniority lists are updated, the RIFed AMT is already at base and settling in, while the wronged mech is displaced, then a grievance is filed and then the whole processed is delayed and most likely the wronged mechanic won't be made whole, I don't understand the secrecy within the TWU when it comes to it's own members.

Im hearing 567 has a lawsuit that they dont want the people who went to TUL to get license premium. Anyone have any info on this?

I believe the only positions in TULE were AMTO with no premium for that classification anyway.

How many TAESL folks reporting to DWH next week?

No one has report dates yet to anywhere. It looks like we'll be at TAESL until the end of the month.

Gotcha. We will start rearranging the furniture to make room for more toolboxes. Lots of Airbus and 737 work scheduled for the first 3 months of the year. Anyone go to Airbus school yet?

The only school that I am aware of that has taken place so far is a line test prep school, one week long and I believe only about 24 guys got scheduled for it. 737 and Airbus are expected to happen in January but no official word yet.

Report date paperwork started getting handed out today for some the guys heading to DWH. I heard between 50 and 60 guys got it and will be reporting this coming Monday.
