So Much Bitterness

4mer,

when you post inaccurcies people will debate you, I have posted facts and accurate events, you have done niether and you can't offer any evidence to support your position.

If you are still in RES, how would you like it if Jerry came in and said, "We don't care about your scope language in your contract telling you the RES is CWA covered work and they are gonna close your RES Center and move it to New Dehli like Delta did or Mexico City which is what Continental did?"

Debating is fine, it is the attacks I don't like. As a matter a fact, the Vp of res came into my office in Nov. , assured us we were "safe", and within 10days came in and closed our office. So I have not been untouched by the realities. As far as New Dehli, I would not put it past them. I'm just saying, I just see it as the way the industry is nowadays.

Yeah, I know what you're getting at, but come on, let's not overcompensate in an effort to be ultra-rational to the point of doing a full 360. Sounds rediculous but think about it. If we continue to "define deviancy down" ( all due apologies to the original coiner of the phrase ) then just about anything goes. I believe the fallacy that fits would be 'Appeal to common practice'. It applies to all.

"That's just the way it is...." is not an argument, but a dodge...a way of cutting off debate. It's not "just the way things are"....it's the way things are being MADE TO BE. It's just that right now, those doing the making wield much influence and have a sychophantic media doing their bidding as well...making a deliberate action appear to be a natural vicissitude. To put it really bluntly to the steerers of this course: "Don't p--- on me and tell me it's raining".

4merresrat: I would bet that your station didnt become the mainline express
station and your pay reduced to doodly squat--one where you have to depend on govt assistance for a living! once you experience that, then you will understand where i am coming from as that of pretty much everyone at u!

Ya know....My first job wasn't very well paid. The benefits got bad after a year or two. I quit.

I now make about 3 times what my first job paid.

Consider the fact that there is a world out there besides airlines. Nearly 200,000,000 people in the United States work. There is a life other than an airline.

That is very true ITRADE, but many of us here spent a lot of time making the Airline our careers. I took the job not for the money back in the late 70's, but for the enjoyment of working around Aircraft. The pay came to us as time went on and made the job all the better. Now the rug has been pulled out and it is a difficult decision to get into another field. I do have hopes of landing a better job in the future, but this will have to do for a bit longer. I hope to get on with another carrier, possibly one of the LCC's, when and if they come to my station. I have already checked, and most of them pay better than Express does...

The problem is the job of "airline pilot" is a VERY specialized career, that took decades of training to achieve. It's a little more diff than taking your MBA to another company.

Huh?

The former U pilot who flew me from JFK to BUF certainly seemed to be doing fine.

I think what you really mean is that seniority is not portable.

It is sad that this management cant see that it is so simple! We do not like being LIED to and we do not like our contracts being BROKEN!
