We at AA and I'm sure I can speak for all your brothers and sisters in aviation. Offer our prayers to all of the victims of this accident.

I might be retired and way out West but my husband woke me up at 7am West coast time with the news. It brought back many chilling feelings. I was trained on the first response team and am so thankful that I never had to go. My heart goes out to the crew and pax on the flight and also to the employees who under so much stress now have to deal with this.
NTSB man on the tv right now used to be a US mechanic and made it plain that it was a contracted airline to US. Thank heaven someone got it right for once.
Folks, remember now is the time to pull together and help those around you. It's tough answering phones in situations like this but you must keep those people calm.
I hope the sups are helping out and not giving you too much trouble during this time. They must realize this is hard on everyone.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

Me too Ozark..egads and i had a dream last night of being on a commuter that crashed (swear!)

My most heart felt condolences to the families of the victims and also to all US Airways employees.

Take it easy on the folks at Mesa Airlines/AirMidwest, they have a better safety record than ANY major carrier. This is the first accident the airline has ever had with fatal consequeces.

I have been on both sides of the fence and the major airline pilots aren't superior aviators, they just have larger airplanes and better meals. Six to ten legs a day in a King Air with no autopilot is taxing on anyone, any age, and any experience level.

My heart goes out to the crew, the passengers, their families and friends.

I've been on that flight a few times. May God have mercy on the souls of the victims and their families.[BR][BR]That said, it is somewhat disturbing to see this thread drifting towards "gee, I hope they make it clear it was Mesa," or "Gee, maybe we should have the contract carriers fly their own livery." This kind of thing can happen to anyone, folks. Those in glass houses, and all that....

Let's be clear. This subject has nothing to do with ALPA merger policy, secret corporate transactions, etc. As airline pilots I believe we have a professional responsibility to not play "Monday Morning Quarterback."

The news media gets out of hand for the sake of having something to talk about. They did it after 9/11. They did it when AA went down in Rockaway, N.Y. They are doing it again now. Repeating their speculation is counterproductive. The only ones who really know what happened are the 2 people sitting up front who were there. God rest their souls. Eventually the NTSB will piece together the eveidence and release the facts.

CHIP,

Thanks. Yes I am. And so are some other's around here.

767jetz:[BR][BR]I believe your comments were uncalled for, but I took mine off of the board out of respect. With over 21,000 hours flight time, over 16,000 hours PIC, and 1,500 hours in military King Air's, I believe I fully understand the situation and have witnessed my fair share of military and airline accidents.[BR][BR]Chip[BR]
