Slot Swap

"Delta gets the LGA slots unrestrictive
US doesn’t get the DCA Slots unless concession/restrictions are met

How does Delta get the slots at LGA and US not get all its slots at DCA? Either the deal is complete or not. Why would US give up slots in LGA and then get further penalized in DCA after said deal? I am asking, I don't know.

I'm certain that nothing between DL and US will be final until US is certain that DOJ will not sue to stop the transfer of the DCA slots to US.

Whatever the final deal is US will get the short end of the stick and Parker will sign it off no problem to get it done.

US upper management will get millions for the LGA slots and the front line employees won’t get diddlysquat except furloughs

Why has Delta and US Airways not issued a press release regarding the DOY and DOJs slot swap announcements?

I was wondering about this very same question myself. And, why is the DOJ still "analyzing" US's part in this transaction and not DL's? Something isn't adding up here.

Does anyone read posts....

"The division will not continue to investigate the acquisition of slots at New York’s LaGuardia Airport because the division has concluded that acquisition does not raise competitive concerns."

The DOJ investigated the LGA portion of the swap and reached the above conclusion. You can argue that they didn't reach the right conclusion all you want, but you can't claim they didn't investigate.

See those quotation marks? Ever wonder what they mean? That I was quoting someone else - get it? Article

I've never said it was. PROVE me wrong...

You made claims about REVENUE in PHX - prove them or at least cite the source. I've given the source for what I've said about US' rank in PHX and the PROFITABILITY of it's LGA operation. Give the source for your statement about REVENUE in PHX.

I guess you really are dense... You try to come across as some expert here... But IMHO you are no better than anyone else here... Does your wife have to pat you on the back all day to stroke your ego?

1+1 =2.. the results of profits when they were reporting profits separately made it pretty clear that PHX did not make the money that the EAST hubs do...
that along with Parker's responses in Crew news about where the money is made....

so one doesnt' need revenue numbers to figure it out.

The US' results pre-merger make it pretty easy to see where US was heading - the trash heap. So you take one year's data and think it applies forever more? What about the 5 years of data before the merger? Here's a dirty little secret for you - without the west US would have been gone years ago and without the east AWA would have most likely faced the same fate, just a couple of years later. Each side needs the other. For you to demand anything while at the same time ignoring what the westies had is the epitome of greed. All the easties, absent a couple, say nothing but "Gimme, gimme, gimme". Oh, that's right - you do take a break from the "Gimme, gimme, gimme" now and then to tell the westies how greedy they are...

Parker would have been well served by keeping the America West name - you'd have no excuse to see this as "your" airline or the westies as trying to weasel their way into "your" list.

So AWA merged out of the goodness of Doug's heart to save AAA. I don't think it would have happened unless AWA had something to gain by doing so. It's called business. (a dirty little secret)

Nice try at stuffing words in my mouth, giveup. Certainly AWH saw benefits to merging with US or they wouldn't have done it - I've never claimed differently. Do you have a point in there somewhere or just bsing? Would it have something to do with easties therefore feeling entitled to beg, borrow, or steal every benefit they can from the westies?

In your opinion only.
