This Martin Luther King Quote is currently on the TWU Local 514 Website:

Martin Luther King, Jr.:

In our glorious fight for civil rights, we must guard against being fooled by false slogans, as 'right-to-work.' It provides no 'rights' and no 'works.' Its purpose is to destroy labor unions and the freedom of collective bargaining... We demand this fraud be stopped.

When I read this early today I had to laugh...

The TWU has more false slogans than any organization I know of...

"United We Stand - Divided We Beg"

"An Injustice to One - Is an Injustice to All"

"Triumph With Unity"

"Aircraft Maintenance - A Future Worth Fight For"

"TWU - American's Real Stregth"

"Best Workers in the World"

"United We Stand - Contract '95 Negotiations"

"I AM The UNION"

These slogans provide no unity within the membership. These slogans do not make the union strong. These slogans have been failed union policy for 20+ years. These slogans have resulted in nothing short of concession bargaining.

Every member should stand and demand this fraud be stopped.

ROFL

Here is another quote from the TWU Local 514 random labor quote system.

Dwight D. Eisenhower:

Only a fool would try to deprive working men and working women of their right to join the union of their choice.

If the TWU would only practiced even a few of the wisdom bearing quotes.

"We are a democratic Union" Sonny Hall, moments before he declared "The ayes have it" after calling for two ayes instead of ayes and nays. When challenged he said "Well, if you get up here, then you can decide the day you get here".

here are two others that i like

1.) its not my fault. its the other big locals

2.) they have million dollar lawyers sitting on the other side of the table
