Sign or Resign AMFA cards

Word is today the DOJ settled with AMR and USAir on the Anti trust lawsuit. AA said it will complete the merger next month. After that comes the SCS application. OK boys lets decide NOW do we put together another AMFA drive now or or just sit back and let the TWU/IAM alliance dictate to us how they will control our craft? This will be the last chance to get rid of the TWU. No more shots at it. It's NOW or Never!
I believe that once the merger goes through, if you don't get on the ballot as an intervening union, you are all finished. You will always be TWU/IAM.

Even if you do get on that ballot, it will be a real long shot because the IAM guys will be told they will lose there pension if they vote in AMFA.

Either way, I think the IBT and TWU have screwed you guys royal already.

Put a nail in it. That ship has sailed, we tried multiple times and didn't get it now I believe it's over

I completely agree with WNMECH, if you guys do not get on the ballot it's over.

I have alway believed that the only real chance you had at going AMFA, was if you could do it before the merger.
Bringing the US guys in it complicates it too much to win a majority.

I agree with all of that and I have seen that you know very well how AMFA works.
You always explain the benefits we have being able to control our own business under AMFA.

However, this statement raises question.

" we the employees of AA will have the voting power to change what ever the TWU supporters say is wrong with AMFA."

What are these things that TWU supporters would want to change, and how much damage could they do to the structure of the best AMT union in the country?

What things are you willing to sacrifice about AMFA, to get the votes of TWU supporters?

What I ment by that if the members come up with something that adversely effect the membership and will benifit all of us at AMFA we can change that. Because it is a Democratic union where the membership has a say. Many have mentioned faults of the AMFA on this site. Just telling them that we will have the ability to correct anything. Some thing I would like to see myself since being an organizer for many yrs, I would like to have AMFA create a organizing committee to grow the union, both in the airline sector as well as manufacturing as well as private smaller companies.
This would help the AMT's now and in the future.

I am done sacrificing for the betterment of the company.

It's time for all that are in our class and craft, aircraft/auto/facilities/utility to stand together to better our trade. Make it so it is fun to come to work again. Make it a better place.

Has the TWU and AA beat you down so much that you have given up?  Do you like what the TWU has done to our class & craft that much?

If you dislike the TWU then lets get involved and rid AA of the TWU. Then we can make what ever changes to the union structure by NOT putting back the same union guys that have been the scammers at what ever station you are at. & system wide.

It might not be completely over yet, but the fat lady is warming up.

Without US guys support, the merger will kill it.

Over? No AMTs I talk to - about this stupid plan the TWU and IAM have in mind to represent the AMTs of the new American are happy.  Probably wouldn't take too much convincing to get enough AMTs from the US Air side to sign AMFA authorization cards either.  There is enough damage done by the TWU that we are subjected to daily, that my loathing of that organization only deepens with each passing day.  I don't see too much difference on the US Air side as far as AMT representation goes either.  There is still plenty of motivation to sign an AMFA card!

I hope you are right about the US guys, The TWU is hoping that replacing the ADT leadership we will give them another chance. I am hoping that everyone see's through that and helps put them out, by signing an AMFA Card.

Once Tulsa shows us that they are interested the line stations will have the cards needed to send the TWU packing, getting a vote is what we need.

Just hope that you will fully participate in the collection of cards as well at your station.
