She's in trouble

I agree there Lily......the point I try to make is she is a prepackaged phony...but too many swoon to her and the prospect of a woman in the White House...I have no problem with a woman president...but she is not qualified.Maybe Rosy O'Donnel or Ellen DeGegenerat would be better...
Obama...you see that pic of him not saluting the flag during the national anthem?Speaks loads to me and anyone who is a patriot.

Yep. I saw the pic. I was slightly disappointed. I think it was poor-form, but I also recognize that at many MLB games in this country (take the dodgers for example), many fans do not have their hands over their heart during the national anthem.

I think it is also poor-form for those fans who neglect the protocol; but I do not see it as a red-flag or a sign of being unpatriotic. It is simply not following protocol... patriotism is not simply putting a flag on your lapel or holding your hand on your heart; it is loving your country, willing to sacrifice for it, and devotion and loyalty. While I agree that Barack should have placed his hand on his heart, I do not see it as a telling-sign as you do.

On a side-note, from the picture that appeared on TIME, it appears that Barack may not have been the only candidate neglecting the Flag Code. (i.e. they are looking in different directions. I suppose, however, there could have been more than one flag... or no flag in front of them at all.)

Note: I haven't been to a home-Astros game so I do not know what happens in Texas.

While i would agree that Hillary might not be the best person for the job, i'd take Obama, Biden, even Edwards or Ron Paul before i voted for Hillary, the fact of the matter is, the chances of a Republican getting elected in '08 is slim and none. As for the Democrats sending Congresses approval into the tank, that little doozie began nose-diving on the Republicans watch and you know it. Hence, the reason they were booted out of there in the first place. Just wait until Bush starts WW3 with Iran, (his words, not mine), as if a Republicans chance of getting elected weren't bad enough.

Ahh....the Republicans didn't campaign on all this and that and they were going to do and change...the Dem's did and now

their lackluster performance is biting them in the butt.

ANALYSIS by GARY LANGER
June 4, 2007

The Democrats in Congress have lost much of the leadership edge they carried out of the 2006 midterm election, with the lack of progress in Iraq being the leading cause. Their only solace: President Bush and the Republicans aren't doing any better.

Six weeks ago the Democrats held a 24-point lead over Bush as the stronger leadership force in Washington; today that's collapsed to a dead heat. The Democrats' overall job approval rating likewise has dropped, from a 54 percent majority to 44 percent now -- with the decline occurring almost exclusively among strong opponents of the Iraq War.

Another figure underscores the public's broad grumpiness: Seventy-three percent now say the country's off on the wrong track, the most in just over a decade.

I guess it is ok when Republicans like Rove, Armetigde and Libby do acts of treason by outing a CIA covert agent and get away with it.

Last time I checked outing CIA agent is a crime

(Back on Topic).........Hillary did enough ..last night, to "get er' back in the middle of the road", and I seriously doubt if she will run off the "blacktop" in the next 50-60 days.
I see "clear sailin" ahead !

You know what they say..............."experience is the best teacher", and I believe, Philly (debate) taught her a HUGE lesson" !

As Bob Dylan said/sang................."The times, they are a changin'..." !!!!

And BOY,.........are they about to !!!!!!!!!

Hillary Clinton has been comforted after a mauling by her Democratic rivals by a new poll which places her ahead of Rudy Giuliani in the event of a presidential contest between the two.

Most influential US conservatives and liberals

Hillary Clinton has a 20-point lead among women voters

The survey, conducted by the respected Pew Research Centre, is one of the largest taken during the campaign, involving 2,000 prospective voters.

It placed the former first lady eight percentage points ahead of the Republican former New York mayor - by a margin of 51 per cent to 43 per cent - and showed that she is making ground among areas of the electorate that have been solid Republican for the past two to three decades.

Mrs Clinton leads Mr Giuliani, considered the favourite to win the Republican nomination, in the South, and polls evenly among voters who attend church once a week.

The New York senator's gender is also an advantage, with a 20-point lead among women voters, more than the usual margin for Democrat candidates.

advertisementAnother recent poll found that as many as 18 per cent of Republican women were considering voting for Mrs Clinton.

Pew researchers expressed caution about the survey results, released almost a year to the day before the election.

But with the primary campaign already 10 months old, voters have had far greater exposure to candidates, and far more opportunity to form opinions, than is usual at this stage of the election cycle.

The nominees for both parties will be formally chosen next August, but it should be clear who has won after half the primary elections are completed by mid-February.

Mrs Clinton is so far ahead of the other contenders for the Democratic nomination that they have resorted to direct attacks on her policies and integrity.

At a debate in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, senators Barack Obama and John Edwards both questioned her original support for the Iraq war, for supporting a bellicose President George W Bush on Iran, and said she was too divisive a figure to beat a Republican.

The Pew poll suggests that despite disapproval ratings of 46 to 48 per cent, five or six points higher than Mr Giuliani, she is increasingly seen as electable by sections of the electorate that count.

"It's very early in the race, and we would all be shocked if the South went for Clinton," said Michael Dimock, Pew's associate director.

"But we have seen a drift to the Left, particularly on government programmes and social issues, and add that to Bush's unpopularity these are hard times for Republicans.

"The results suggest Republicans haven't developed a considered view of what they are looking for in the campaign."

Good point.
Reminds one of the treasonous actions under Clinton with regard to China.

Newly declassified documents show that President Bill Clinton personally approved the transfer to China of advanced space technology that can be used for nuclear combat.

The documents show that in 1996 Clinton approved the export of radiation hardened chip sets to China. The specialized chips are necessary for fighting a nuclear war.

"Waivers may be granted upon a national interest determination," states a Commerce Department document titled "U.S. Sanctions on China."

"The President has approved a series of satellite related waivers in recent months, most recently in November, 1996 for export of radiation hardened chip sets for a Chinese meteorological satellite," noted the Commerce Department documents.

These special computer chips are designed to function while being bombarded by intense radiation. Radiation hardened chips are considered critical for atomic warfare and are required by advanced nuclear tipped missiles.

Amazing what a few donations from our Chinese friends will get you.
Who's Hillary have in her pocket...Norm Hsu?

Did you notice how the neo-cons rarely identify the sources of their news tidbits? In this case it was NewsMax.Com. Not exactly a credible source.

Besides, why let the facts ruin their delusions?

I very much belive Ralph Nader that BOTH Parties serve the interest of Big Business. They ought to be like NASCAR drivers with the names of their sponsers plastered over their suits. I belive it's Meet the New Boss same as the Old Boss as long as DEM/REP partys rule

WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, Oct. 29) -- Putting aside stubborn differences on human rights and democratic reform, President Bill Clinton and Chinese President Jiang Zemin today announced a pact aimed at halting the spread of nuclear weapons and giving China access to U.S. nuclear power plant technology.

After 2 1/2 hours of talks with the Chinese leader, Clinton told a news conference he intends to certify China as not exporting nuclear technology for weapons development by other countries, a move that also clears the way for U.S. companies to sell nuclear power technology to the Chinese.

"This agreement is a win-win-win," Clinton said. "It serves America's national security, environmental and economic interests ... It is the right thing to do for America."

Also:

The export of such data, which also are applicable to the guidance system of ICBMs, had been banned for national security reasons since the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre -- until President Clinton granted a waiver.

On March 14, 1996, the Clinton administration transferred licensing responsibility for technology exports to the Commerce Department from State and Defense. As a result, our formerly strict export controls were effectively eviscerated

I'm awaiting a credible source listing.

This too right wing for you Veritas?

The House investigative committee was formed in the wake of accusations that campaign contributions might have influenced the Clinton administration to give favorable trade treatment to U.S. companies seeking waivers to launch satellites on Chinese rockets.

But following the failures of some of those launches, U.S. satellite manufacturers Loral Corp. and Hughes Electronics allegedly gave China unauthorized design information.

Hmm... That means that such exports were legal during the Reagan years.

Let's see, the operative word in what you just quoted is accusations.

The parts which you left out include:

China could begin production of advanced thermonuclear weapons based on stolen U.S. design information during the next decade, according to a congressional report on Chinese nuclear espionage that will be released officially Tuesday.

China penetrated U.S. nuclear labs, stealing secrets about the U.S. neutron bomb and every warhead in the U.S. nuclear arsenal -- including those for the MX Peacekeeper and Minuteman III missiles.

The report credits Energy Secretary Bill Richardson for making long-needed security improvements to the nation's vulnerable nuclear labs, run by the Department of Energy.

The report concludes: Chinese "penetration of our national weapons laboratories spans at least the past several decades and almost certainly continues today."

Thanks for playing.

Official denial

White House for sale

Oh my gosh,we made a boo-boo

HONG KONG, China -- U.S. satellite maker Loral Space & Communications Ltd. has agreed to pay a $14 million fine for passing missile technology to China.

The subsidiary neither admitted nor denied the charges but has agreed to pay the fine. It contends the information was "mistakenly sent to the Chinese."

The investigation started as a criminal case, after the U.S. government adjudged Space Systems/Loral might have broken export laws when it gave technical help to China, on its rockets.

Loral helped China investigate the February 1996 crash of a Chinese Long March missile that was carrying a Loral satellite.

Such a move requires government clearance. But in June that year, Loral disclosed that it had not received it. :mf_boff:

A growing focus on fresh ideas coupled with lingering doubts about Hillary Clinton's honesty and forthrightness are keeping the Democratic presidential contest close in Iowa, with Barack Obama in particular mounting a strong race against the national front-runner.

Tip of the iceberg?
