Senority in a merger with UA

Wow... people are still talking about this. Good grief. CAL won't do a damn thing until the DL contract is out of arbitration. And even if the pilots strike and Delta folds, I think the LAST thing CAL would ever do is merge.

Believe me. We don't want you working for UA either.

i dont have anything against UA...they were my second choice...and as far as being "axed" since ill have essentially the lowest seniority, i really dont care...but you have to start somewhere, am i correct?

You can bet that a merger of UA/CO will indeed be bloody for employees. Aren't they all? No matter what you do with seniority (date of hire dovetail, staple), a large group of employees always end up taking it in the shorts! If, indeed, the merger rumors are true, both companies better pay a visit to Doug Parker and his gang. They're been running the merger integration of US/HP about as well as it can be run. Hold on to your seats, people. It is going to be one hell of a ride!

If I were an executive at UA, I'd be salivating over getting ATL added as a hub to the network along with the LGA and DCA slots. The rest of DL is not needed as far as UA is concerned. ORD covers CVG and DEN covers SLC.

I was just Kidding!

....NOT!

Scared about your job?

Neither Continental (or United for that matter) has the $$ to outright buy the other. If this does happen, it will be a merger as we all saw at US/HP

Keep drinking your texas trailer kool-aid bud- connie continental doesnt have money to buy anyone outright and when it is investors putting up the money it is called a merger - the only one that has money right now is WN - and you can take that to the bank bra-tha (and trust me i am no fan of WN) but facts are facts.
