Secondary Lines for June- FA RESERVE AND SCHEDULING DISCUSSED HERE.

Secondary lines in PHL opened yesterday. I got up this morning to print them up to see if I might get one, but they are not posted on the HUB. Does anyone know how many lines there are for June? They are usually posted sometime during the day on the day that they open. Hopefully they will be on there tonight.

MOD NOTE: We are going to allow scheduling/lines/reserve issues for F/A's to be discussed in this thread separately from the main AFA thread, and will see how it goes. If everyone plays nice and keeps on topic we'll leave it open, but if it wanders back to AFA discussions NOT related to these issues it will be closed. It's up to you, folks.....
 
There are 280 sec lines for the month of June. If they are still not on the HUB, you can acess them from CATCREW at home.

After clicking the CATCREW icon on your desktop, click on "Get Bid Package". Chose June, and then you will be prompted to continue. A bunch of trip lines will show up. Click on "Sec Lines" at the top of the page, then click on "MX". Those are the June Sec lines. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, but I have an apple computer and I don't have the normal flight crew connector option. I still have to type everything in and it does give me the bid package option. Hopefully it will be available tonight.

Put in a call to MF and ask him (to make a phone) and have them loaded.
A friend of mine has done that in the past and MF took care of it.
 
Ok since there were LESS secondary lines for June resulting in flight attendants going BACK on reserve during the "busy" season do we know whats up? I know we had some employees come back from VF but are we expecting anymore for July? Only at Usairways......OOOOOONLY Usairways. :rolleyes: :lol:
 
Might this be a reason why there are less lines?
This is from April 7th.

US Airways Group Inc. will reduce main-line capacity 3 to 4 percent in the second half of the year.

The airline, which operates out of Birmingham International Airport, cites high fuel prices.

"While demand has remained strong, given high fuel prices, we are taking proactive steps by reducing main-line capacity when compared to 2007," said Scott Kirby, president.

The carrier didn't disclose which flights would be effected.
 
Summer will be crazy as usual - BHs on vacation, lots of open time, majority of reserves on sickation, late night transatlantic quick calls every night, full airplanes, miscommutes, shortstaffed, and we'll work our tails off yet still barely break guarantee. I can't wait!

The reason sec blocks didnt go as junior was that the apporx 30 people scheduled to go out on the buyout in June, were contacted by Inflight in the last week to postpone their buyout by 30 days.

I had a commuter today who told me this, and he is staying until July now. Didnt INflight see this coming?
 
Management doesn't see ANYTHING coming. Proper work ethic aside you have employees who lose their line, employees that are reserve forever. The majority of employees that have a block will either fly it with minor tweaking or will change it but still fly their block worth or even higher. For the LIFE of me I don't know why they leave all that open time. With that being said as FlightChic mentioned you will most CERTAINLY have sickations due to the fact that 10 years here holds Ohhhhh January,February etc. Rather than demand people suck it up or leave the company will find themselves in trouble as always. STOP the fear and allow more lines, and treat people as adults. Those that don't act accordingly deal with THEM. The whole system is broken and will remain so for years to come. They will break the numbers down for you from the first pilot bid all the way down. It's still a load of crap. NO other airline has this BS. SOS.....SOS....SOS :lol:

Last year June wasn't even a busy month until the very end after all the kids got out of school and then all hell broke loose until after labor day. At the very end of August, I ended up calling in sick because I was so burned out from flying virtually non-stop with the typical summer crowd.

It just amazes me that this happens year after year after year yet nothing is ever done about it. Then they wonder "What happened?" It looks like someone would try to find a viable solution and fix the problem.

It absolutely cracks me up to see all the N/As after all the reserve names during the summer! HAHAHA

Some bases are short staffed now so I can't imagine what it will be like in July during an East Coast thunder storm with millions of delays and cancellations. Oh well! Not my problem! :lol:
 
The company does it to themselves...we don't do it to THEM. As with customers the flight attendant and certainly the RESERVE is the enemy. It's a complete and utter joke. Speaking of a joke....try getting released earlier today? My friend #52 good for 1day and going into INV could not get released. Weather is great and from what I could see on option 18 the coverage was ok. MORONS....complete MORONS. I LOVE it on bad weather days with no coverage the desperation in some of the schedulers voices to help out... Yeah help this.... :lol:

Yep, they do it to themselves but they think it is OUR fault. As for releasing, it is next to impossible in CLT. I just got released around 3pm. I didn't even call any earlier because I knew they would say no, they always do. I used to hate it when they wouldn't releaes us in PHL because of a cloud in PIT. As for bad weather days, if any schedulers are reading this: DO NOT under any circumstance call me to help you out when you're desperate because you have never helped me out when I needed your help. You have screwed me and my friends more times than I can even count. :down:
