Seeking comments on the rumor of Tech Crew Chief helping Timco so 757 planes meet the schedule for heavy checks. How many were sent on the field trip? And when did that start? How long will it continue? Will this be a discussion about ethics? But first, verify the TRUTH, then proceed.

Not a rumor they went there last weekend they had an aileron and spoiler problem

So it's true. Non-union Timco can't fix outsourced AA planes without help from insourced TULE union labor.
You think that bothers the company? It does not bother the union as they approved it.

It just says one thing, outsourcing is less efficient. If you have to prop up production with your own people what's the point? The fact is that Airplane has been OTS since October of last Year...now that's planning...

Yes Chris you are correct, but the TIMCO 757 's are owned ant leased. OTS time is still under the companies control.

It may not bother the compaany or the twu but it bothers me. Let me get this right. We have union techs going to a non union facility to get work out on time that AA/twu sourced out? Is it too extreme to call these techs SCABS? So I suppose they'll be going to China and South America (to third world countries) to get planes out "on time" that cost us 13,000 jobs? Am I the only one who finds this wrong?

It gives "I've got mine brother" a whole new meaning. Maybe I'm being extreme but this is frankly disgusting.

Aileron and spoiler problem???? I worked that Bird for a decade and spoilers/ailerons were the easiest flight control system to adjust...

Walked through the CAM building a week ago and stopped in the Cowl shop to look at a 757 fan cowl that Timco attempted a hot bond repair, apparently the moisture was not removed and repair was overheated virtually destroying the cowl (It Was Ugly).. Was told it will be sent to Nordam for repair at Timco expense..

AA management in my opinion cares little about maintenance efficiency they proved that with the creation of the General mechanic.
Their thinking was we can put any AMT anywhere we choose and better control manhours. Now, an AMT who primarily works cabin/cargo is put on flight controls, engine or landing gear he is a little out of his element and it takes longer to complete the task.
The same holds true with someone asked to remove a lav when they normally work what once was Systems, and the problem is made worse with overtime..Now they want to do this with Line Avionics!! I believe efficiency comes from being familiar with an area of the airplane at the Line or Base......

I agree, but our opinions do not count for anything anymore.
We work for a company that regards its employees as WORTHLESS.

names and stations TCC from would help

This is an act of treason if true

Timco should be red circled by the International!
