RETIREMENT

Why don't you wonder why the International didn't get this info !!!!Like we've been telling you BOBs the one trying to get out!
One more time, the contract was more CONCESSIONS that would have hurt every airline union Negotiation!!!we are bottom feeders as far as pay and benifits, and we would still be if it had passed !

Well that is a fair question, but the International was not advocating a NO VOTE. Bob was.
In fact I think after the No Vote the International backed off and let Bob and boys lead the negotiations down the drain.

That is why they are now so pissed the Chapter 11 got filed.

Everytime we step up claiming we are going to save the profession from more concession we take it in the shorts big time.

Informer's position is not that the company filed Ch 11 because the TA was defeated; it's that the TA would have meant a payraise between the time of its ratification and the date the company gets what it wants in the bankruptcy (thru agreement or abrogation).
When I voted NO for the T/A.....bankruptcy was a rumor more than fact. I based my vote on the language of the T/A. BTW, in the 2010 T/A the company kept the pension intact, but went after the retiree medical. If AA really wanted to change, terminate or freeze the pension why didn't they propose it in the 2010 T/A???

I'll answer my own question......because the majority would of voted down the T/A anyway. The driving factors behind the vote NO was retiree medical changes for those under 50, Lump sum check for Base mechanics instead of structural raises provided to the Line mechanics, airline support mechanics working on the docks, and 24/7 coverage at the bases. The last 3 didn't affect me....retiree medical did. Bankruptcy wasn't part of the equation. No need to call the PBGC back in 2010.

and, when you voted yes in 2003, WE all took it in the shorts......to the tune of 200K. Stop complaining about something that's long gone and worry more about losing your job. Nobody's job is secure...not even Line mechanics. But, we'll find out by Wednesday. Maybe????

Never voted YES in 2003, in fact never voted yes on any TWU contract until this last T/A

I wish I could understand why that point is impossible for some to grasp.
I have posted over and over and over, and they just keep twisting my point into their needed to position for defense of ignorance.

I was also wondering why Bob Owens just finally called the PBGC for the facts TODAY after all that has happened.
I would think that those PBGC facts should have been requested before you challenged AA to a Chalter 11 duel.
A defintely before you take your membership in this direction.

If you were or are so concerned what was stopping you from calling the PBGC earlier? Do your own footwork if you feel the need to inform yourself. Do not wait for others and then criticize them about it. Please get a grasp on your emotions and relax a bit.

Why don't you wonder why the International didn't get this info !!!!

Do you really believe that International doesn't know this info? While this bankruptcy affects your job, pay, and benefits, it's not the first bankruptcy rodeo that the union has been through. So why hasn't the international put out some info on DB plan termination and freeze? Info on retiree health insurance? Etc.

Actually they did put out information on www.twubkfacts.org I called for clarification because all the info I'd seen and the reports I'd read was a bit confusing.

I think Informers just angry and scared so instead of lashing out at the company, he is lashing out at everyone else. In one post he is lashing out at all his coworkers, in others about his leadership, at the moment he thinks I'm the cause of all his ills, tomorrow or 10 minutes from now it may be you. He likes to say how other people like to place blame, sad isnt it?

Why should I lash out at the company? They were offering me a substantial raise in pay, the ability to keep my pension, and my prefunding retirement medical.

Is it leaders like yourself that screwed that up. Not AA

You and the other idiots that cannot see that are the one's that should be lashed out at.

Go ahead and keep living your fantasy world of historical organized labor power, while thousands lose their jobs and pensions, you will surely get your GEO pay you seek. Who gives a rats ass if that comes at the expense of others pain and suffering. At least you will have yours....brother

Scared no, Angry yes.

I voted NO - cause I lost retiree medical among other things. If you don't like it.. well tough! You're just another number, just like everybody else!

So will you feel better now that everyone is going to lose it along with the 16000 or so we would've earned?
